Just took a few pictures of the city I live in, Derby, England. I’ve been living there for nearly three years. Despite the fact that Derby looks really small in terms of its scale, it certainly is one of the safest cities in England, considering that there’s not been any terrorist attacks over last few years. 89DF7221-3BF4-49DD-B127-9BA17AF0F82D.jpeg FD78D977-CB50-441E-82DA-66517B3C7799.jpeg 0960E8CB-C186-4F36-BE0A-D73181797EA7.jpeg 096A87AC-ADD5-4B9B-BC74-926FF50B676C.jpeg D925A36B-D45F-4D07-92F7-5BBC47A95AC9.jpeg

As much as I hate to admit it, the US is pretty much the only inhabitable English speaking country. Hope Trump’s gonna win the upcoming election! The seafood looks palatable, by the way

There are always goods and bads in any country. You can only experience fully by living there for many years. Touring attractions will only give you the good side. The bad side are always hidden.

Three generations of my family got strong connections with Britain. My late grandpa fled to England during the civil war in China and my father is an English born. Apparently, the country is getting increasingly worse since the left wing government has gone nuts. It’s already gotten to the point that the legal systems and the mainstream media are against its own people. I’d say, no matter how worse things are getting in UK, I will stay here and I will keep fighting until the country gets back to normal. Of course, UK isn’t the only western country that’s facing the same problems. And you are right, many Hong Kong people actually overlook the problems of a country since they only care about its attractions. However, from what I’ve learnt from my parents and what I’ve experienced in UK over the last three years, the UK is no longer the country that people used to know.

It’s a very complicated world, socially, economically, and politically. We grow and experience, we see things deeper as we age.

Having lived in Hong Kong and Canada for 25 years each, I see many things running in extreme styles. Canada is so slow and laid back that is so unbearable, Hong Kong is so quick that is unnecessary. But there are so many good things that Hong Kong and Canada have offered. A place that combine all the goods would be perfect!

I’m a British citizen too and I’ve pretty much held my UK passport since the day I was born. Frankly, I’m in favour of getting UK out of the EU since the EU has literally done more harm than good to the entire continent. And you could renew your UK passport as well and return to UK whenever you want. But take a look at this picture before deciding to move back to Britain. D55966FC-18B0-45CE-AA45-60062F5C1582.png

My maternal grandparents have been living in Toronto since the 1980s. They love Canada so much and plan to spend the rest of their life in there. Of course, I’ve been to Toronto several times. The environment is beautiful and seafood is palatable as always. If you happen to be apolitical, you’d pretty much consider Canada to be a paradise. For me, it’s too socially repressive. Toronto is the most far left populated city in Canada where those who have an opinion that’s different from the liberals’, might get their lives in danger. Wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap can easily trigger the radical left and make them assault you. See? Free speech is dying in Canada. That’s what makes me lose interest in living in Canada.
Well, before my late mother died of heart failure, I did have a chance to get a Canadian citizenship. Never mind, I think I’ll just stay in England and do whatever I can to make myself happy. By the way, Justin Trudeau is tearing Canada apart from within, he really has to step down. Hong Kong? I don’t even wanna mention that place anymore.

Lots of HK people are reluctant to stay in HK due to how worse  HK has gotten, in terms of the political environment. However, in lots of western countries, things ain’t getting any nicer. The left wing governments are destroying the western civilisation and putting its people’s lives at risk.

I agree, at least there’s still half of the population that ain’t liberals. Canada? It’s pretty much over since the majority of the people are far left! Even terrorists can be normalised and beautified in Canada. I do cast doubts on the intelligence of Canadians, in general, of course.

In terms of free speech, Hong Kong is still slightly better than the west. In UK, criticising Islam online could get the cops to come to your house for a visit. Or even could get you arrested. HK has fallen but its freedom of speech still means something

It sounds damned scary in UK.  Most muslins that I personally know are good ppls!

In HK, the one thing that I love the most is having a live-in maid for only £400 a month. She does everything including cooking, ironing, cleaning, making fresh coffee, fresh fruit juicy, baking fresh bread etc. So we are spoiled! We just need to focus on spending time on things that we really love to do. Our maid even helps me to connect the Hifi cables, clean the equipment, bring the hifi in and out whenever I need to upgrade them, and to listen to the change in sound after upgrading.

I still remember doing these dirty stuff morning/night/Saturday/Sunday/holiday that we need to personally take care of when I was living in London and USA!
