我尼個Anthem (MRX AV receiver)金牌打手兼爬文高手(自封個隻),吹捧MRX,一句講曬,有好野自然想同大家分享,是龍是蟲,逃不出各位法眼/金耳朵.
MRX其中一大賣點,是其自家開發既auto eq system ARC(Anthem Room Correction),採用Super-Efficient Infinite Implusive Response (IIR) filters, 有關IIR,請參照相關白皮書 (a whitepaper on IIR filter http://www.lavryengineering.com/white_papers/iir.pdf).
MRX與同品牌高價AV純前級AVM50及D2V(約價$48k及$60k)ARC功能相若(MRX 少—半運算能力.DSP x/o frequency @ 60,80,100,120,150,有效頻率最高去到5KHz,AVM50及D2V則去到20KHz, DSP x/o frequency @25-160 with 5Hz steps).
MRX既eq ARC同其他品牌有小小不同,其實所有eq software如YPAO,Audessy等都朝著同—目標-將閣下家中套架生頻應曲線(response curve)調到最平順.但ARC還考慮到聆聽環境各處不同,更將此獨特之處Room Gain列入ARC功能之內.
Room Gain is a desirable room response characteristic -- part of what you perceive as listening to content in a quality theater. It will show on the ARC charts as the shallow hump in the black, dashed Target curve for each speaker near the crossover frequencies. The Room Gain value is simply the height of that hump (in dB) over the basic volume level of the solution -- the flat part of the Target curve to the right of the crossover frequencies. A Room Gain of 0dB means no hump
What Room Gain means to the sound is precisely what you might expect from the shape of that shallow hump. There is no magic here.
Staying close to the inherent Room Gain in your room is useful because it makes natural sounds that might occur in the room more closely match the same sounds occurring on sound tracks.
A very large room, or rooms with extensive acoustic treatment, will have little or no inherent Room Gain. In such cases, adding a little Room Gain -- say bringing it up to 2dB -- may make things sound better to you. Particularly since Movie mixers assume home theaters will have a small amount of Room Gain. Values in the 2-4dB range are typical.
另ARC與其它eq不同之處,是沒有類似日系機手動equalizer模式去修改auto eq計算數值,此獨特之處,可能是曲高和寡,減小購買意慾.其實ARC也有手動模式,俾用家作出某程度上微調,但Anthem原則上不讚成用家修改ARC setting.
由於小弟於今年初已購入Anthem MRX700,又加上在美國AVS forum Anthem MRX 300/500/700 owner thread and tweaking guide爬文,對MRX ARC操作上有一定認識,近日更有多位師兄加入MRX用家行列,但由於ARC操作不似流行日糸eq操作而產生疑問在Hiendy綱上討論,我便斗膽以大哥哥身份分享我既經驗.後來pepsiman大大更叫我將有關資料整理及集中,方便查閱.
以下便是將我在相關討論帖子內容剪貼在一起,希望提供有用資訊.其中絕大部分內容/資料取材/轉載自美國AVS forum及Anthem 官方網站,較技術性字眼/內容,小弟不才,不敢亂譯,沿用原文.另若有任可遺漏錯誤,敬請指出,以正視聽.

用ARC之前,先要安裝跟机software(內含收音咪s/n及個別收音咪calibration數值),在speaker menu輸入喇叭configuration,即5.1,7.1,surround back 定front height,然後接駁收音咪,在pc/notebook啟動ARC,執行auto mode,通常會set Movie Config=Music Config,選擇5至10個收音咪便可.
ARC d 圖可以show到你每隻喇叭既response curve(共有三絛,一係measured(收音),一絛係target(目標),一絛係calculated(計算)).理論上係用calculated條curve盡量將measured推近target.其實其它AV receiver auto eq大同小異.
你可先望望measured條curve是否平直,有無先天/後天缺陷.先天如書架型喇叭低頻不足,後天如擺位不佳,如貼牆角.d前置喇叭要離後,側牆很多才好聲,視乎個別品牌及型號設計.
ARC menu 有個Quick Measure功能,可幫用家揀一個最理想喇叭位置.插咪后揀Quick Measure,揀喇叭(如超低音),按start后啟動,條curve實時顯示,你可將該喇叭移位,推出推入,又左又右,toe in不同角度,揀個位條收音curve最靚個位就ok.
但可修改喇叭x/o,譬如你對前置/十仔夠班,但ARC set x/o高,如100,你可在manual mode 硬仆d x/o (如60)落去,然後先calculate及upload. 十仔有個auto/flat既選擇,揀flat時ARC會將佢推低d(當佢頂得住). 呢個有試我而家set哂80hz會平衡d
AVS forum Anthem官方代表強烈悍衛Auto ARC value,不建議修改,話一般用家聽慣d"衰聲",轉聽ARC d好野一時適應不來,要俾時間習慣—下.
好似Anthem d貴价純前級AVM50/D2V 既ARC大同小異(多d filter 及最高改到20KHz,MRX=5KHz),一樣無得改你可以試下我既方法.已收音,不用插咪(但假設已將之前收音ARC檔案save左係pc到).開啟ARC軟件,棟Manual or opening existing file,入去open之前行Auto ARC save落既file,按Targets button,會出Target Customization menu 出來,左面Movie Config,右面Music Config,兩個應該一樣(假設之前行Auto mode ARC set Movie = Music), 在Music Config 下不tick Same As Movie,你便可以將各喇叭既x/o 硬仆入去,之後按ok,佢會Processing之後俾條藍色Target curve(Measured 為紅色),然後接Calculate button,會幫你計條Calculated curve(綠色),再按Upload button,幫你save d setting 上去,(其實行Automated (Recommended) mode之時,佢幫你做埋所有程序而已,記得save file,如加日期或喇叭簡稱在default file name Anthem Room Correction 後便作悉別).
做完上述步驟,Movie 則為ARC 自動波版,Music 則為手動版,睇戲時在Set Up menu 裹Bass Manager 揀Movie 或Music 來call出兩個setting,試下邊個好d.
行Manual ARC另一玩法,顧名思義,Movie用來睇戲,Music用來聽歌.ARC可能set你對前置x/o較高(如80),你可在Manual ARC mode Music Config disable所有喇叭(包括隻十仔)靜出前置,改x/o為60,甚至tick埋右手邊Full range X Over,用盡對前置黎聽CD
忘記補充,行Quick Measure會洗去ARC之前save落之eq setting,要重新run ARC auto mode 或manual mode(理論上需要,因喇叭已移位,之前數值不準),除非你save左舊數值,認為舊位置已是最好,但都要load舊file出黎,calculate然後upload番上去). speaker distance要自己輸入,無記錯AVS forum Anthem官方代表重話行auto ARC之前或後都可以.
