There are some local labels, especially those specialising in Cantopops, their SACD's are just as bad as their regular CD's. (Garbage in and garbage out.) You will know which are the ones after making a few mistakes of buying such junk. They are re-issuing some old CD's in SACD version, best to avoid.
Otherwise, most SACD's sound better than regular CD's. Some CD's claim they are just as good as SACD's, and are really not true. Most SACD's are jazz or classical, so you are in luck if you like these genres.
Did you know that there are fewer than 20,000 SACD's titles ever issued, vs over 20 million for CD's? If you have over 200 SACD's, you would own more than 1% of all SACD titles ever issued. But if you want to own 1% of all CD's every issued, your CD collection needs to be 200,000 or more.
