有師兄問我有關 firmware version,  現時的LKS latest firmware is V3.3(8 Oct 2013)  ,  如果你的是 V3.22 or before ,  十一月可以上來升級 .

Hi Gundam hing,  

for the i2s ,  i do not know any transport work with  the LKS pin assigment,  actually as I2S got no specification on pin assignment and each pin data format,  each manufacturer got its own version.

Will LKS release the DAC's pin assignments ? Then we may make use of the I2S port for, say, another DSD connection...

Gundam hing , Yes they did.

They have released the pin assignment on the user manual already.  

actually, it is NOT just the pin assignment but also the  definition.  

I2S is a standard which got no standard ,  if the transport pin assigment and description can be supply,  LKS can reassign the Pin assigment for us. but need to get the transport manufacturers full specification (完整的Pin assigment, and each pin 的data 描述.

here is the I2S pin assigment diagram from the user manual.

Seems compatible with Evo:

10. I2S output
The I2S output provides raw I2S data out of the hiFace Evo on an RJ-45 socket. It has no
galvanic isolation so its ground connection is same as the USB one. Pinout is as follows
(pins are listed from left to right):
2,4,6,8) Ground
1) SDATA
3) LRCK
5) SCLK
7) MCLK
Lines are driven by high-speed, high-current buffers capable of 25mA current drive on
each line.

I don't know.  I have not try the LKS with HiFace Evo so far. may be working.  

it seems the Pin 7 is a litte bit different.

As we know I2S is not a precisely defined specification ,  it is not easy to talk between different manufacturers.  

If you can find the EVO specification,  (both Pin assigment,  and each PIN's data flow specification).  Please kindly send me,  I can pass to LKS and hopefully he make something for me.

Thank you for your information. Still no idea how I can make use of the port....

Hope the EVO can be used to connect to LKS...

BTW, will LKS sell separated Amanero USB-I2S DDC module so that we can make use of the I2S port for connecting to another audio source ?

Or any other XMOS modules ?

Hi Gundam hing,

LKS cannot sell Amanero module.  Amanero sell it on their web.  it is around USD91.00/pc.  he will tell us to buy directly on Amanero web.  

I don't know which transport can work with LKS at the moment toooo...  my MSB DATA IV is using its own MSB Network protocol also.  so, cannot work with LKS too.  it seems every factory got their own standard on i2S.  

the main reason is I2S is not a formal standard actually.
