for those who already own 9 series Oppo the temptation I agree may not be that great, especially the new one for sure cannot play ISO.

b) Extra Media Player capable playing ISO file ====> Oppo HDMI Input ==>Oppo HDMI Ouptut to AV Amp or TV.

我睇到呢段英文sentence 的推斷, 雖然感覺有d PatPat痕

, 是否 Oppo "隱藏弦機" 呢 ??

小弟的推推斷, 講錯唔好打頭

1) 新機應該不 support Blu-ray ISO

2) 要遵守 Anti-copy regulation ( inclusion of Cinavia anti-copy detection.")

3) 要進入美國 or 其它市場, 加多個 HDMI Input, 經第三方 source ( e.g. Media Player ) 播 Blu-ray ISO

4) Any comments ??

Personally I think this is yes and no.

Firstly we have to assume that the Oppo HDMI input allows video to either be passed through or be processed by its onboard chipset, and that the video processing on the Oppo is superior. If we do not object to these assumptions then I think we can move on.  Personally I believe Oppo is superior in terms of it video processing quality and implementation of circuitry design than many run of the mill media players

Secondly do we believe in all media players are created equal, e.g., whether a $500 player is the same as a $2,000 one in terms of video quality?  If we believe there are differences in terms of media player quality, then I think we can explore further.

For an average player if the Oppo HDMI in accept video input and ‘process’ incoming signal, it just might be equal to a mini video processor, clean up artifact and through its video circuitry enhance the quality of the incoming video before it is sent out.  So that’s why I think it is yes and no, for already good quality video processing yes it might be redundant and irrelevant, but for average to low quality processing there might be benefit.

Just my 2 cents

一般 media player 同 oppo 係 video 表現方面係有明顯分别, 但不及声效表現分別大.

oppo 声效表現贏一般 media player幾條街.
如果 oppo 105 DAC 可以解獨立 Bluray player/ MDP/BD transport 輸入的 HD audio signal,
oppo 105 updates firmwares 而又避開 bluray licence restriction, 这個 DAC 先算有吸引力.

I think to obtain Blu-Ray license for new player released after certain cut off date, the 103/105 included, you have to abide by the rules, eg, including Cinavia, but I am sure down the road someone will figure out something.

105 咪就係用 5509 同一粒 QDEO 囉, 只係加咗 4k 功能, 冇咩畫面改善, 我部 95 可以繼續過度....

To users of 95 the urge to 'upgrade' may not be that high since 95 is already quite a player, I suspect the 105 will have a bit of value added feature to increase its value.
