I am the D2 ground box user USB version here for long time now. probably one of the first User group in Hong Kong. Cause before they official launched in Hong Kong, CKleung brought it to my home for home trial.
if you guys know me, all knew i am a little crazy in CAS side. spent a lot of time to bring down all the noise level in CAS to compete with my LP system. And it did win my LP several until I changed my cartridge to Lyra Enta SL recently. Some Chings here can prove that. And my LP side is not bad at all. but CAS can beat it several time. very close match even now.

I used quite a lot of LPS and AR products and complicated networks system to eliminate the noise to very very low level. Need to thanks to a lot of ching here for their opinions. And this D2 USB version add on my C1 is only an addition sound tunning device for me. but very positive. it gives a very transparent sound and sharpen the image further than AR cannot do. i used them to fine tune my sound. i put it on my X1 and using AR USB at my C1.

But things happen, due to my Ass itching problem, I changed my Vertere ethernet cable, to Dalby Ethernets, which I might write a report on this cable later if time allows, Peter Ching want to home visit me. So I suggest to bring a ethernet Version of D2 to play play.  BIG WOR.  My Daughter was too creative, draw a wonderful message on the packaging……… so I commit to buy this D2 for sure.

So I ask whether I can borrow three more D2 to try before I commit to buy which version. So I got one Ethernet, USB and a Spade version to trial before I commit which one I will go for. Many thanks to Ben Sir. You are the best!!!!

First I tested the ethernet version on my swtich to AB with AR ethernet eliminator. Mmmm… it is a bit too bright, may be I got one USB version on C1 already. So we tried to “move further away” from the DAC. Bingo! I found I put it at the main Router connected to wall plug gave the perfect result. The quiet level is something I never experience. In between I still have AR ethernet eliminator too. But put it at the first gate give an excellent result. I guess it is a ground box, which is different function as the AR ethernet eliminator. Very happy with the result. The Background can go blacker even I thought it is impossible.
Then I still have one USB and Spare sitting on the table. So I should it and hide the box before my daughter found it. so I causally plug in the empty slot at my X1. Then called off the night.

During the weekend, I played some casual music using Tidal. Something is very wrong. Why it was so good? But I cannot go critical listening since weekend daytime was family time. But I noticed that it was amazing good like I am using my nas side.
So I finished all the “activities” and settled monster to sleep and I sat down and critical listening Tidal. My first time in life to “Critical” listening Tidal.
So it is not my illusion, Tidal did improved a lot. It can compete to NAS as player now. I listen the whole “melody” live new Album and Sandy Lam in Tidal. So this D2 does did something here. Very Hiend grade music.
Since I commit to buy one only. Then I need to find out which one was doing the magic here. I unplug the ethernet version, then listening again. I stop the music right after half song. This gives you the sign if you don’t want to listen no more. Then I plug it back. Magic back. So I am sure that it is the ethernet did the magic to tidal. But I unplug the USB and packed it back to the box. I played again…..
Damn, where is the magic go? Then I plugged back the USB back to my X1…..

What I want to report here is I commit buy all of them…………………………
They are really a good and affordable ground box for router noise filter. I seldom write long report but this is really good!
I am expecting my Nas side will improve further. Will see after I got back my Dalby cable.
The Transparency and noise level can further decrease to an impossible level. I guess wifi and router are really noisy.
Stronger recommend to anyone CAS lover and DAC. 1+1+1=10.

I decided to get rid of the switch.
Plug the d2 lan and ar lan terminator into the router
Result is excellent

Tidal really upgraded a lot right? Can compare with cd now. Agree?
Listening now. Still very happy about this finding.

I decided to ditch the switch because my aurender couldn't find any ip in one Saturday afternoon.
I was mad and spent the whole afternoon tried to fix it.
now 少隻香爐少隻鬼
Ditched the switch, sold the sotm lan isolator and a pair of lan cable to my friend to fund me to buy the D2 usb

Setchi D2 有齊 usb/ethernet/spade/rca plugs 等型號。
價錢你問 Ben Sir 啦，佢冇 mark up 價的。

There are four version of plugs.
Rca, spade, Ethernet and USB.
So no need for adaptor.

I never tried in L1, cause I don’t have it. Hehehe.
I like the USB and Ethernet version the most
