師兄、我都一様最近才開始投入CAS、依家毎次少少甘rip CD。我用 iMac、具体方案其他還未定、遅D先決定点連接。不過条路真的非常漫長

你即係想要USB reader功能既DAC, 即係部dac識自己去讀usb storage裡面既file
USB DAC既意思係有USB input既DAC, 即係有多一種digital input介面, 可插一部USB out(PCM signal)既device(即電腦, Computer as transport)

kingrex uc192 數位訊號轉換器(usb--->optical/coaxial)  係用黎食USB既digital output(PCM signal), 再轉做optical/coaxial digital output, 係唔識自已去讀usb storage裡面既file

有Digital XLR input (AES) 既DAC都較高級, 幾千蚊貨仔應該無啦....

依家都未整好個資料庫、路途長遠。。。

不過、優先考慮的会選択一D入門級１０K左右的、先玩玩了解自己喜好才投入多点。

我不単止DAC想買、仲想其他機都upgrade下、所以依家邊rip住歌、邊考慮先換或買邊部好。
無計、無銭、所以入手一次或昇一次都要好好考慮。

DAC有考慮幾部、rega, MF, CB, 等等。

dbpoweramp is much more user-friendly than eacopy. the good thing about eacopy is that you can use secure ripping for free while you need to pay to get that in dbpoweramp (not very expensive, though. just US$38). secure-ripping gives you much better ripping quality. you can find more information from here:

apart from that, you can convert between different format (e.g flac to mp3) using the paid dbpoweramp, which is pretty cool for me when i convert some songs to mp3 for her iphone.

one important thing, to get the best result, you need to "calibrate" your cd-rom for secure ripping. in the config process, you will be asked to put a unscratched disc and a very scratched disc. you can find some information here:

and rklpoon hing, you need a player in addition to dac. some player has built-in dac which can also act as a dac for external source. examples are cambridge audio stream magic, pioneer n-50-k, yba, musical fidelity... av bi-weekly this week talks about that (http://www.chillimedia.com.hk/av_home.aspx) you may have a look.

the other choice is to split into player and dac. squeezebox touch can be a good choice of very reasonable player. then you can have more choice on dac... ca, wyred4sound, mf.... many.

many of the dac at this price range (<10k) i know don't have AES input... maybe it's because my knowledge is weak.

thank you very much for your comment/info., SBT is my target too, but a matching decent transfrmer may cost $1-2k, totalling $4k, and i wonder to invest the sum to buy a better all-in-one(2nd hand is fine) piece to save space.
