個人覺得 Wireworld 的 Interconnect 較中性且效能較高

可考慮 Silver Eclipse / Gold Eclipse / Platinum Eclipse for HiFi

Oasis / Equinox / Eclipse for AV

用在 Source 至前級是十分優秀的表現

Another dumb question: My current CAS set up is

QNAP NAS (for songs storage and ripped under AIFF lossless)->wifi router->Mac Mini->DAC->Stereo Systems

If I want to get a Linn player.  Do I have to do anything to the NAS or simply replace the mini and DAC for the Linn DS?

LINN will replace your MAC and DAC.   keep your NAS. use a router to connect NAS and Linn, not recommend using Wifi connection in between

The comments from akiraku are all correct.

You just keep the QNAP NAS (for storage of audio files).

What you need is to get a Linn DS and connect it to the Router (or switch) with LAN cable.

You can control playing the songs via WiFi with an iPad or iPhone or iPod with a control software installed (e.g. ChorusDS HD or SongBook DS or others).

The MAC can be used for ripping the CD and control the audio files storage as well as the upgrade software for the Linn DS via Konfig (config software provided by Linn).

Your transition from Mac + DAC to Linn DS is smooth and easy.  

Your present DAC can be obsoleted after you get the Linn DS.

Alternatively, you may try the Digital Stream Output (Optical or Coaxial) from Linn DS (Majik DS or Akurate DS/1) to see your DAC performance vs Linn DS DAC sound.

我對linn ds都頗有興趣, 請問ds可唔可以直接駁pc或notebook, 而唔經router呢? 多左個router係中間多左重干擾, 心理上唔係咁舒服。

我個router接駁了咁多器材, 如pc、notebook、stb、ps3, 如屋企人同時上網時咪好多訊號都由它處理, 請問佢唔會影響到音質嗎?

ds以crossover形式駁去部電腦度,
部電腦再安裝twonkymedia server,
應該可以的

不過都建議買番個router ...

DS 系統用 Network Switch 去串連

這也是 Linn 建議的駁法



我用 Stand Alone Gigabit Switch  效果十分好

亦試過router只駁ds同nas,
音質完全冇分別, 唔見有干擾出現  ...

傳統上音質對訊源的干擾係好重要, 估唔到ds係咁既情況下仍有好表現, 唔知係咪數碼傳輸的原因呢, 似乎佢在設計時都考慮哂呢d因素了。

Linn DS 設計已是盡量減少干擾

只有 LAN Cable 一條



相比 CAS，他們的系統中干擾更多

Computer 內的干擾、DAC 的干擾、USB / Firewire 的干擾 ......

比較 CDP vs (16bit/44.1kHz) Ripped CD

(1) Mark Levinson No.31.5 (Transport) + Mark Levinson No.30.6 (DAC)
(2) Linn Majik DS (Digital Out) + Mark Levinson No.30.6 (DAC)

如你只有一個router ， 建議你多買一個專用router/switch (~$100) (即建立一個獨立LAN/VLAN)for Linn 和 NAS，那麼，音訊signal 只會在Linn 和 NAS 之間游走，而其它signal都不會入到。

    network 情況下，這不會構成noise，因ethernet 的 level 3 ,4 已有修正和重發功能，除非你的network長時期busy，bandwidth不足 (即窒聲)，否則，even 192k的訊息相對100M network也不是問題。
