首試 LKS Dual ES9018 + Femto clock

Another words for modding LKS. This DAC has Voltage-mode output. So it is very important quality of liner regulators for digital and for analog stages of 2x ES9018. It is  6 regulators: 2x 3.3V + 2x 1.2V for analog and digital input, 2x 3.3V for analog output. So it will be usefull to change all of them for something better. For example LT1086 with 40 uV RMS, or even better.

Yes, you are correct. we change them.  Siuping did change the regulator to discrete one.   you may see his photos .  and you will hear the sonic different.

Hello!

On what regulators did you change LM1086? Here http://www.audiodesignguide.com/DAC32/index2.html used current/voltage output plus shunt regulators vor every line. It is very clear power and power does not influence from many variants of capacitors, type of transformers, phase of transformers, wires and so on.
It is very interesting - is the way to mod weak power lines in LKS? DAC sounds very good, but not briliant at all. Stage narrow, bass a little flat (not too deep). As for other aspects sound quite nice.

Dear bbest ,

the discrete PSU (3.3v) was made by myself ....  it is for 3.3V output ,  and it can be a direct replacement for LM too....

你也可以參考我之前的 POST 來鎖定 LLBW. 其實只改鐘或鎖定 LLBW 唔一定好聲過 AUTO，因為高分析力下會揭露你的 DAC 和系統的缺點，你會需要更多的配合… 而這個 thread 的第一個 post 只是改了鐘的比較，但 LKS 002 的 clock output 會先進入另一個 clock divider IC 才分配給兩粒 9018，如果能將 femto clock module 的 3.3V 供給這粒 IC 會好更多，更少 jitter，發揮 clock module 的真表現。

另外有一個小 tip 可減少 002 的 background noise，如有興趣可 PM 再講。

是的.  香港版 會小舍更改所用電容呢....  , 由火牛到電源板的頭關線,  小舍也應該會用  UP-OCC copper (單晶銅)  !

在這個版本使用後,  LKS DAC 應該內置 3 個Femto clock 了!

師兄意思是要密封003機頂散熱氣孔才鎖到LLBW嗎？會不會過熱架? 我用blackcat usb 只能鎖到MHBW

有開冷氣問題應該不大，如果真係擔心，可以參考我私人的手作方法，將 clock chip 獨立包裹(掏空的空間最好深一點)，都係參考 MSB 的 galaxy clock module...



Clock stabilized 的時間會短d，而且 jitter 更少…
