Good news: We will have that detail specification done this week.

The issue we had for last two weeks are: Try to balance the CPU power we need (usually the higher the better) and
potential noise generation for higher speed CPU (in this case, the lower the better)... We need to find a balance point.

Also, I insist the fan-less design, also we super fast L1 and L2 cache with dedicated DMA for SSD/HD and another one for cache... drag them for few days too. Sorry if I got too technical here.

But it is there.  :)

Geek Source Update from Larry Ho on 30th Sept :

" For me, Geek Source is quite 'active' because there are so many good options we want to bring it.
But it is not 100% settle yet so I didn't write too much here.

Few updates: HD will be user replaceable.  :)

USB 3.0 interface for external hardware.

Enhance jitter removal WiFi buffer and ultra-fast direct path audio out is under developing!! "

So they have a Geek Source Lite, as follows:

"Every feature of the original Geek Source minus the HDD. Geek Source Lite comes standard with 32GB of ultra high speed flash storage for system boot up and all software related storage while allowing you the option to load in your own HDD or SSD."

Anyone knows what is the "HDD" that does not come with the Lite version ?

Here is the list of what we settle now. As our tradition, it is BETTER then we plan in July.

Any good comments are highly welcome.

1) Operation CPU: Intel i5-4670 series (less energy consumption and better noise feature)
2) Audio CPU: XMOS XS-1 8 Cores
2) RAM: Kingston 4G DDR3 RAM
4) Internal Storage: TWO SATA II interface. One for Solid State Drive. One for 2T/4T Hard Drive
(It is upgradable on hard drive part)
5) Network Interface: 10G Ethernet. WiFi 802.11n. Both interface will equip with Zero-Jitter circuit and buffer.
6) External storage interface: 2* USB 3.0, 1 e-SATA
7) Audio Clocks: Dual TCXO or Dual Femto Clocks. It will re-clock ALL the digital audio outputs.
8) Digital Audio Output Connector
---> 1 SPDIF via RCA,
---> 1 AES/EBU via XLR
---> 1 Dedicated USB 2.0 Type A Female. (Native DSD supported)
9) Power Rating: 48W. (Maybe more in future.)

yes, but no ripping function, around May 2015(if no problem)
