hopefully, I can have chance to listen to your raspberry pi,  I was using Ubuntu real time kernel last year , actually I  was using Linux and Windows in parallel with my Adnaco system.  finally I picked Win + Jplay.

Windows+ Jplay, if the windows is not fine tuned or services and irq is not optimized ,  i agree the sonic is not good or impressive .  however,  when I fine tuned the windows. the sonic improvement is not little .  and windows can be a great platform.  

the case is just like Win vs MacOS X,  for newly install Win vs MacOS X,  MacOS with itunes is better than windows with foobar,  however, when the windows is fine tuned.  the performance gain is NOT little. and it got better performance over Mac .

Fully agree with you.
I tried Cubox, OSX with AudirvanaPlus and JPLAY; then go to JPLAY Dual system at the end.

Ben 兄，見你用optical fibre，tweaks on window, 太復雜了，小弟跟不上。用raspyfi 原因，是十分一價錢而有九成音效，於願已足。

CAS2012 兄，因為用開 iPeng, 不會試其它的，無從比較。Squeezebox 是行 streaming 的, 有很多產品如 Touch, Classic, Receiver, 等等。Pi 是最便宜的，二佰多。我家有一個 server, 便可用幾個 clients, 十分方便。另 iPeng 是最好用的 control。

iPeng我都試過, 真係幾好用, 最緊要完美出到album art

I would like to learn it too.

And here I have to thank Obee for the Cubox posts  too. I have read it many times and learnt a lot from it. Unfortunately, my poor computer skills do not allow me to understand them well and so I finally give up trying it and still use my old Mac for CAS.

如果有LKS ching, 不只要用WASAPI or Kernel Streaming Driver,  需要用ASIO (like cPLAY or foobar with ASIO).  or Adobe 的Audition.

no ,  there is NO new firmware update so far from Amanero Italy,  from August to September.
