RE: XLR Connection between Accuphase CD and MAC6700

Hi:
I note that there are substantial different when using the RCA and XLR cables connection between my new Accuphase CD DP560 and my McIntosh MAC6700. The sound output via XLR cable is extremely low compared with RCA cable.

For XLR, the output sound volume is about 45% (TRIM level adjust to+6) while for RCA , the output sound volume is about 30% (TRIM level adjust to+0).  Please advise would it has any effect to the music quality if the TRIM level adjust to+6 and the sound volume turn to 45%.

Dear Eric,
我們知到 Accuphase 所採用的 XLR 是日式接線法，而 McIntosh 的是美式，除帶有反相功能的產品可直接打制更正外，以往都會使用自家改相的 DIY cable 去處理，因為若錯誤了相位可能導致底消作用，訊號因而減弱，音量就自然少了很多，見意在未確定情況前先接 RCA 端，如有疑難可致電我們，謝謝你的支持呢

Oh, 師兄
音量的確比想象中少了些，不過雖是如此，你可先把 Trim level 加到最大，應該沒有太大的問題，你亦可以播放一些鋼琴爆棚的音樂來測試一下，試試會否出現問題，因為若有出現 Over Gain 情況，首先影響高中上段音階的穩定，爆棚時會產生明顯失真，那馬上要調低輸入 Gain 的數值，然而反之沒有出現問題，則可以繼續正常使用了。

Dear 師兄，
留意所有 McIntosh 器材機背後都有 Power Control in/out 的 3.5mm 耳機型插座，這些是廠方提供的一個串聯開關器材的方案，簡單來說是由主機擔任總控制，一支遙控 / 一鍵開關，以你所說的為例，MA6700 就是主機，由主機的 Power Control Main out，以 3.5mm 耳機插線連接 MCT500 之 Power Control in，再用 3.5mm 耳機線由 MCT500 的 Power Control out 連接 D150 的 in 位置即可，當完成整體連結，便可以 一支遙控 / 一鍵開關。
另外，亦可從 MA6700 背後的 Data Port 以.5mm 耳機線連接 MCT500 背面的 Data in 位置，那麼 MCT 大部份的遙控功能就可以使用 MA6700 的遙控器代勞了。

唯一美中不足的是 MA6700 並未設有 DIN in 的端子和支援 DSD/SACD 格式，否則可由 MCT500 的 DIN 端子直接傳輸 DSD / SACD 的數碼訊號進行解碼轉換。

I use the USB Flash Memory Drives 我用手指(which contained with music file - 24bit/192kHz & 384kHz) plug into my MCT500 CD transport which linked to my preamp. D150 via DIN cable, but I observed that there are no response / playback taken place on the D150.   Besides, when the CD transport engaged with 24bit/384kHz, it seems that the CD transport operation is not functioning in normal condition. Please kind advise. Many thanks.

應該是沒有問題的，只要在放音樂檔案於 USB 手指之前，先使用 Fat32 格式化 USB 手指，之後才載入音樂檔案，那 MCT500 就能辨認得到，不論 DXD 或 DSD 之格式也是沒有問題的，否則在 MCT500 display 會顯示 ERROR ** 字樣，又或沒有反應呢。

MY MCT500 is OK when playing music file - 24bit/192kHz but not OK for 384kHz.  

Moreover, my preamp. D150 have no response for playing music file - 24bit/192kHz & 384kHz.  Currently my MCT500 and D150 are connected by DIN.
