踏入狗年不到兩個月，已經是第二次開箱，嚴格來說是開盒，因為只是２吋多見方輕飄飄的小盒子．　８０年代小弟旅居英國時玩音響用的是Ｒｅｇａ　ＲＰ３及Ｓｙｓｔｅｍｄｅｋ　ＩＩＸ配Ａｕｄｉｏ　Ｔｅｃｈｎｉｃａ，Ｓｈｕｒｅ等動磁唱頭．當年Ｌｉｎｎ　ＬＰ１２，Ｐｉｎｋ　Ｔｒｉａｎｇｌｅ及Ｒｏｋｓａｎ等高級唱盤已超出負擔能力，光悅唱頭這些神級精品更是遙不可及．

９０年代頭回流香港後放棄黑膠只玩ＣＤ，廿多年間居所及器材無可避免是換了幾次，但要等到五六年前才重拾舊夢再上黑膠路，慢慢再儲音樂軟件．　開始時用了Ｔｅｃｈｎｉｃｓ的ＳＰ－１０ｍｋ２直驅盤配上Ｔｈｏｍａｓ　Ｓｃｈｉｃｋ臂幾年，後來再升級至現用的ＴＷ　Ａｃｕｓｔｉｃ　Ｂｌａｃｋ　Ｎｉｇｈｔ帶動盤配Ｋｕｚｍａ　４Ｐｏｉｎｔｓ唱臂．　唱頭方面也從最初的改裝Ｄｅｎｏｎ　ＤＬ－１０３（ｓａｐｐｈｉｒｅ針杆及合金唱頭殼）開始，陸續換了幾只ＭＣ頭直至剛退役的Ｏｒｔｏｆｏｎ　Ａ９５．　

去年尾忽然起了擁有光悅頭念頭，於是上網爬文及詢問同道意見．結果是越問心頭越來越高（壞人當道）． 　最後於去年尾落訂買了人生第一只Ｋｏｅｔｓｕ頭．　代理表示訂製要等３個月左右，上星期收到電話貨剛到港，付完尾數後昨天代理大佬上門ｓｅｔ頭，因為這頭的ｒｉｄｅ　ｐｏｓｉｔｉｏｎ甚低加上針杆接近透明，自問沒信心／能力ｓｅｔ得理想，唯有麻煩專家幫手． 坦白說，第一眼看到真身確實有點感動，因為這Ｂｌｕｅ　Ｌａｃｅ（粉藍瑪瑙）石殼是半通透及明顯石英紋層，看上非常性感，真所謂“唔打得都睇得”．



Ｓｅｔ好開聲，新頭在完全未經ｒｕｎ－ｉｎ情況下，表現已完全抛離已往用過的任何唱頭．高端頭加上鑽石針杆的威力是非常明顯；無論速度，動態，兩頻伸展及音場描繪都很出色．未來日子必需好好掌握這頭特性，給它盡量發揮以免辜負了這等好頭．

Congrats.
Does Koetsu needs a high mass tonearm to mount ?
May I know what phono stage you are using too ? Need original step up transformer ?
How do you like the A95 anyway and I just got the SPU A95 for my Ikeda IT-407 and need to be a bit patient to wait for armboard to mount the IT-407, quite painful.

I'm just a new user of Koetsu, been told they generally work better with tonearms of medium to higher effective mass. My Kuzma 4Point is 14g, I suspect your Ikeda 407 is an even better match.
I tried ARC Ref Phono 3 briefly with A95 but felt the sound was a bit too forward, & finally settled on a niche Coincident Audio Statement Phono (using 4 12AX7 tubes) which sounds more relaxed to my ears.
The A95 was a good cartridge & served me well for 2 years, I had no complaint at all.

I had my eye on ARC Ref. phono 3 as well and found it a bit too bright and tense. May be it's because of the Odin / Air Tight cartridge combination and finally settled for Phasemation EA-1000.

By the way, a very experienced high hand told me the Ikeda Kai you use is an excellent cartridge without going to silly money territory, good choice!!

Thanks.
Kai is very good in playing back classical and that's why I picked this one.
While for SPU A95, I have no idea how it sound yet.
Hope this is good.
