Dear Ivanso hing,
Hope you have recovered from your cold/flu.
Congratulation to your upcoming happy and exciting big AV improvement project.
It is exciting to be able to have a near 30SM area as your own private home theater. So happy.
I am a designer/contractor and an A/V enthusiastic. There are few issues would like to share with you.
A. Do check the turning radius of the staircase of your building. A 130” electric screen is rather long. If the staircase/corridor are too narrow. May not be able to fit.
B. How many people living in the apartment ? The screen blocking the corridor may affect the flow of the apartment.
C. About the Mains power supply. It is advisable to replace the mains cable from the electric meter located on the public staircase/corridor to the MCB in your apartment. Using “Hager” MCB box will be more convenience for you to choose Audiophile grade MCB/RCCD switches.
D. Since you are using ‘open kitchen’. And the stove is facing the windows. It is better to use electrical induction stove to comply with the Fire/Building ordinance. (However, it did will consume more electrical power from your apartment.)
E. Are you planned to have ‘False ceiling’ ? It may be good to have false ceiling so that all the Atmos speakers can be ‘in-ceiling’. Also can hide/cover the Beam which run along the middle of the living room. Can also cover the light which will be emitted from the top of the curtain along the windows.
F. Optical fiber HDMI cable is best choice. There are few brands which have small connector which will fit the 32mm conduit.
G. If the budget allows. Using galvanized metal conduit will further reduce the RF/EMI interference to the speakers/electrical/lan cable.
H. Sometimes need to find compromise solution between the A/V requirement with the actual environments and the needs of your family members. ^_^
Just my-2 cents.
Thanks.
