Do you mean the Delta Sigma design using chips as DAC is all in vain? Only the R2R is the proper way in DAC design?

May be they are good for SACD. For similiar price as Spring, I will give CHORD QUTEST a try.

T+A DAC 8 DSD並不是一般的chip based DAC，它的PCM及DSD是分開兩部份獨立解碼的。雖然它的PCM解碼是用8粒32bits Burr-Brown converter chips構成4組對稱的解碼線路，但DSD解碼則運用了他們獨特及專門開發的T+A True One Bit DSD Converter。

據他們網站的資料顯示，這DSD解碼是全類比(Analogue)構造的，包含真正的one-bit converter，不是用在市場上購買的chip based解碼晶片。所以，它與一般使用chip based的PCM解碼晶片內置的DSD解碼模式（非直解）不能相提並論。

前者T+A的True-1-Bit DSD解碼對音質的正面影響，遠遠優勝於後者chip based解碼。

故此，它的DSD解碼效果是優勝於它的PCM解碼。亦因此，建議使用HQPlayer將Redbook轉換及升頻至DSD，再輸出至T+A DAC 8 DSD播放，就可發揮這DAC的最佳效果。
