17-10-2022 Android 12 rolling out to Chromecast (4K) with Frame Rate Matching

The biggest new feature is the match frame rate function that video enthusiasts have been looking forward to since Android 12 for TV was announced. It allows Chromecast to match its video output to the frame rate of the content (24, 25, 50, 60 etc.) for judder-free playback on the TV. The streaming app must also support the new feature.

You can download Android 12 now on your Chromecast with Google TV by going to your profile picture and clicking Settings -> System -> About -> System update.

19-4-2023 有外國用戶報稱上列的 STTE.221215.004.A1.9716989 系統更新可能會令 Chromecast with Google TV 4K 開機之後沒有聲音輸出，需要重新 REBOOT 機頂盒才可解決問題。
