Dear Ching,
Allow me to BS a bit. I think to conclude a product's performance without using it and/or through some meaningful ways of comparison with an existing benchmark might just be a bit premature. A chipset is like what it implies, a chipset and nothing else, without proper design implementation and production and quality control, it wouldn't even work. It is just like saying all players using the same QDEO chipset MUST behave the same way, regardless of how lousy the design is, or how well components such as power supply, circuit layout and parts used are taken into consideration.
I believe even with the same chipset, things could be different in a positive AND a negative way. May be someone along the line figured out a way to improve signal transfer outside the chipset to incur less loss of signal or less interference, etc.? After all, if all players using the same chipset behave the same, then I bet the cheapest player would sale like hotcakes.
May be we should hold our judgment about how the 103 would actually perform, better or worst, when some of us actually start using it?
Just my 2 cents, no disrespect intended.
