個WIRELESS ICON 冇著到燈, 但IP ADDRESS冇錯的, 我都係用一個IP來CONNECT PUTTY, 同睇住ROUTER 個IP來SET的. 是否有其他野做錯了呢.

我用瀏覽器開個IP, 佢係SHOW左 It'S Work !!

聽師兄咁講，你應該清楚個IP address，有兩個可能性較大：
1。你的iPad 上的mpad set 錯左
2。你的mpd無著或者著唔到

請你影張相show番你個Mpd set connection 嘅內容先。
另外，可以ssh入去，打以下command:
"netstat -tan | grep 6600"
如果有野出嚟，即係mpd係行緊可以連接。
穩陣可以打埋以下command double confirm
"ps -A | grep mpd"
如果又有野出，即係mpd行緊。

This is what my cubox setting:


I just found from your screen that I forget to tell u to modify mpd.conf so that it listens to all the network interface, not just the 127.0.0.1 (itself only). It should also listen to the network for others to connect to (e.g. ipad)

Please do the following, my apology for the missing step:

1. sed -i 's/bind_to_address/#bind_to_address/g' /etc/mpd.conf

Then restart mpd, and run the "netstat" command again (as you did before), see if the listening IP is now changed to "0.0.0.0" or not. (0.0.0.0 means listening to every interfaces)

It shows that yous ipad is connected, are you sure you have music inside?
type this command to see what's in music library:

1. ls /var/lib/mpd

If nothing inside, that means no music.

Oh yes,
Any music folders inside?
If yes, type this command:

1. tail -f /var/log/mpd/mpd.log

then you go back to ipad, press "update database". You should see lot of text coming out. Wait for few minutes (for example, if you have 500G music, it takes over 10 minutes)


After few minutes (no need wait until it stops rolling new text messages), press "refresh local cache" on ipad, you can now start play some music.

After the scanning is completed (no new text keep rolling out), press "refresh local cache" again, and you can get full image of music library on your ipad.

You are almost done la. Just last step.
btw, you can ignore the "PCM..." warning message, no harm

I don't have Android Pad, for Apple iPAD, I did once again from the beginning following my tutorial on page 1, after the "sed" command, I can connect from iPad. Then I press "update database", it shows the music library is building... Below is what I did:

1. Run the "tail" command to monitor the mpd.log
2. Press the icon in "connection" menu in mPAD
3. After connected, in "setting" menu, press "update database"
4. The mpd.log will keep rolling music files
5. After few minutes, back to ipad - mpad, press "refresh local cache", music files appear (it takes long time to refresh, over 1 minute).

just installed mpd on my pogoplug. Thanks.

But it's in version 0.15.12 and doesn't support DSD. Any Ching knows where to get a version that Support DSD?

ching, it shows that you really done. (because I didn't say this versioning issue)

Latest version of MPD is 0.17, it supports DSD. I also found that the mpd comes with apt in pogoplug not latest version. The workaround now is to "download and compile" mpd yourself. I did this and got version 0.17 loaded.

As it is too complicated to mention this (compile) thing in this post, so I didn't mention.
