Yes, I am a current owner CD XTSE2 and connecting it with PSX-R to get the best out of it. I have been using this transport with my DAC XP signature for the past six months or so, I am very satisfied with the overall performance. Though I am currently selling my CD XTSE2 transport just because I am thinking about getting a cyrus streamer X2 for the convenience.
The market for CD transport around $20K is divided among three main groups, philips CD-PRO2-M based transport, Sanyo Transport, and Sony Transport. Ocassionaly, you may find teac transports as well. Esoteric VRDS transport is definitely out of this price range.
For Philips transport at this price range, you may find local made transport (Jays Audio), costing slightly more is NorthStar, AudioNote CDT2 and Bel Canto CD2 (which I currently own). Sanyo based loading transport is cyrus (which I currently own), Roksan Kandy K2, Creek EVO 2 etc. Sony based transport (transport model KS???) includes AudioNote CD2, Bel Canto CDt3.
I would say try audition anyone of the transport types for yourself in the showrooms, there are just so many of them to choose from. I would say your DAC is the main determinant of the sound quality though
