Why Invicta MIRUS?
-ONE ESS9018 per channel: eight DACs in parallel to each stereo channel, a total of 16 channels or a total of TWO ESS9018.

-Support DXD and DSD over USB.

-SDCard reader are provided, just plug and play. The SDCard supports WAV, AIFF, FLAC and DSD files. Forget about CAS.

-Input data rates up to 352.8kS/S and 384kS/S.

-Their products were created in part by ESS Sabre DAC engineers.

-$4995 Canadian dollars. Made in Canada.

-Save money for those "clean" USB power products. For example, iUSBPower can bring some improvements for DAC including dCS, Weiss, wyred4sound, EmmLabs, Mytek, M2Tech, AMR, Asus, etc., but NOT for Resonessence Labs -  they did a good job in their USB implementation.

-Save money for those USB to SPDIF products. For example, it is said that the Resonessence Labs Invicta USB output is better than Audiophilleo1 without PurePower. Invicta has linear power supply inside.

no, invicta will be upgraded too, the DAC for the headphone part will be using ESS9018 too

Mirus does not have headphone amp so less internal interference and the psu works wholely for dac function.

Also Mira have one es9018 chip per channel but for Invicta, its two channels share one es9018 chip.

If not using headphone, Mira is certainly better.

Mirus is better, it uses two ESS for the DAC, so it should be a fully balcanced design.
Invicta uses one ESS for the DAC, another ESS is for headphone use.

Actually the new one should be called "Invicta Mirus" - which means something like "Wonderful Invicta"

The old model is just called "Invicta"

NEW INVICTA:

-    All PCBs have been revised based on our experience with the production of INVICTA over the past two years.
-    The Headphone output is now generated by the ESS Sabre DAC ES9018 rather than the ES9016 of the first generation.
-    The front panel is modified to show additional high sample rate LEDs.
-    DSD (both 64 and 128) is now supported: you can use USB or the SD Card as the data source for DSD programs. We support DFF and DXF formats on the SD Card.
-    We have doubled the sample rate: you may now provide audio data at up to 384kS/S.
-    The front panel and the cover are redesigned to highlight the DSD capability and reduce the internal temperature.
-    We have added a slot in the front panel to increase the IR sensitivity
-    The unit now operates with the Apple Remote Control
-    A cosmetic upgrade: the OLED Display is now white rather than the original blue color.

INVICTA Mirus:
-    Mirus inherits all the improvements of the INVICTA mentioned above.
-    The headphone module is removed and a second ESS Sabre DAC ES9018 is added to the back-panel XLR and RCA outputs.
-    This allows a total of eight ES9018 channels for each stereo output. The THD and noise are thereby improved even further than on the INVICTA.

今日去完秋記之後，無聊入去旁邊間野，估唔到咁就奶野了，原來sales話呢部野(mirus?)今日新鮮滾熱辣到左，之前都聽講過佢播sd card係佢強項，啱哂我呢d對音質有要求既懶人。播返首自己熟悉既2012王菲/彭羚，一聽人聲嘅時候果種甜美，圓滑，分析力，音樂感令我流晒口水，不過佢暫時support唔到中文， 佢地話遲啲廠果邊會update返， 之後有再比較部舊款，新呢部真係正啲但係貴啲，而家心大心細咁，好後悔入左去啊！
