請教如何玩CAS

一路以來都冇玩CAS, 科技及時机都已幾成熟，I wish to give it a try with a budget of about HKD20k. 現有舊notebook using Win7. But i do not have a DAC to connect to my Nagra PLL preamp. 如果可以駁埋samsung note3 就更方便。

請指教吓！Thanks.

現今市場都好多 build in DAC 既 Network Player, 唔一定要再用你部 Notebook，亦冇需為軟硬件設定煩惱。
Around 20K budget, Linn 同 Naim 都有相關 model 可以睇下。

Synology NAS 唔係所有USB DAC 都 support，又要有些少電腦知識，最終都要加一舊野，例如 Apple TV 或電腦，所以以唔想煩都係直接接加DAC，20K 有很多選擇；新既有mytek，Becnchmark，二手Weiss 都是好評的DAC。

唔用硬盆，而用SSD是否少些noises and jitters?

SSD & fast (low latency) RAM improve sonic performance for sure.  

But it's no way CAS using a Win7 notebook can win the transport section of a Marantz SA-7S1.  

However, nowadays several DACs that are <HK$20K can outperform the dac section of SA-7S1 (if not playing SACD).

Thanks for ckkeung c-hing's advice. I never expect cas at a budget of hkd20k to beat sa7s1 cdp, but wish to find something reasonably good.

Would it be better to forget about the win7 notebook and get a SSD storage device plus a DAC to feed to my PLL preamp? If so any recommendation please? Sorry for too many questions

The JRiver is cheap.  The JPlay can be installed in >1 computers of yours.
So the cost is reasonable for a rookie.

If your budget is fixed at $20k, you may buy a dac and play play first, then decide on whether to upgrade to tailor-built CAS desktop or branded music servers.

BTW the Asustor AS-202TE NAS is of better built and faster and has bigger internal RAM than similarly-priced Synology.

我用mytek 192差不多一年，好高清

If your SACD player is SA-7S1, Benchmark DAC2 may be closer to your taste.

我覺得先要搵部有番咁上下嘅DAC先有機會勝過SA7，小弟試過以下組合嘅分別：
1) SA7 + OCX
2) SA7+OCX + Analog DAC
3) SA7+OCX + QuteHD
4) Oppo 105 + QuteHD
5) Analog DAC + CAS (TP-Link Router + OpenWRT + Squezzelite)
6) QuteHD + CAS

以基準組合1) 作比較，用Redbook為例，
2) 比其他組合好。
3) 比較漸近 1)，但只是味道不同。
4) 也不錯，C/P值最高。
5) 和 2) 比較，已經很難分出 CD Transport 和 CAS 的高低，但用心來聽，SA7的Transport味道比較優勝。
6) 比其他會差一點。

如果以HD Audio作比較，結果當然以CAS佔優，但若果同SACD比較，很難斷定哪個較優，因為SACD品質比較參差，好的會勝過其他，差的可比CD還差。

所以如果想玩CAS，最好因為想玩高清檔案而出手。
