Still have a lot of things to do :-

1) +/- 15v Regulatiors Upgrade and plan for Discrete Output Stage;
2) Additional DoP USB Card with Galvanic Isolation (as I have a spare Amanero and LC574A)
The idea is that Digital Out of N70A will be used as trigger to switch I2S lines.  When Digital Out is off, N70A takes control of I2S lines.  However, when Digital Out is set to On, the I2S lines will be taken over by the Amanero.  Probably the Digital out of N70A will be removed and released space for Amanero.
3) Choke filter for DAC power;
4) Additional Discrete Output Stage and selectable by user (that means to power up either the original OPAMP output stage or the new Discrete Output Stage);
5) Digital In changed to HDMI in (only 'nice to have' so that I can connect my Squeezebox Devices or portable devices);
6) May be crystals upgrade (btw, I am not a die heart fans of crystals);

Actually, I don't know how far I can go.

Any new idea ?

都喺玩2先. I have performed some testings to connect Amanero USB into my N-70A.
PCM and DSD 都已經出到聲.  DSD_ON on Amanero is same as XPCM_DSD on N-70A.
The trigger of Amanero or N-70A will be revised so that Amanero has priority, that means whenever Amanero is powered on and I2S lines belongs to Amanero.  Afterthat, there will be two USB inputs on my N-70A (One of them is DoP compliant).    The original USB is used to connect XBMC and Amanero is used to connect LIVA running LMS 7.9.

To minimize the impacts to N-70A, the wirings must be as short as possible.   So, the I2S switching board was actually mounted on the connectors between controller and dac.

這個部份的比較有個問題, 只能比較到PC ...

好在睇左呢段短評, 本來好想敗N70A返去.
就是因為LKS吾合口味現在可以打消了.

No. 2.  Almost done with the exception of digital isolator ISO7640FM (recommended by Amanero) need to be ordered and installed later.

Just finished testing using Daphile on Intel Fanless and LMS7.9 on LIVA.  Perfect locks can be achieved on those DSD64, DSD128 and DXD.  N-70A didn't realize music was playing on it.

Digital isolator ISO7640FM was installed into N-70A.   As all the I/O pins of ISO7640FM are fully occuplied, the trigger can't be by Amanero USB otherwise it will violate Galvanic Isolation.  As a result, the trigger was changed to USB DAC IN. That means the original N-70A's CM6631A was completely replaced by Amanero USB and ISO7640FM. The only difference is the sampling frequence will not be displayed on the LCD screen.

睇清楚後, 原來N70-A喺用CM6632A (Not CM6631A), 而且都有用ISO7640FM做isolator.  如果它support DoP, 我就一定留番用.  既然原裝己經有ISO7640FM, 我就可以將個HDMI I2S Input 直接Hack入去.  不過DSD_ON要另外處理. Now, my N70-A has a HDMI IS2 Input supporting both PCM and DSD (that means No. 5 completed ).

部N-70A要聽吓先再決定點改output stage. 可能根本吾洗再改.  In the meantime, 又有新嘢玩 - 用AKM4490(current flagship DAC from AKM)可以真正native support DSD (not like ESSxxxx or other AKM's dac) 嘅 music player. Bye Bye.

應該唔會再大改. 仲可以去挑機. 不過部嘢好鬼重.

My conclusion : It is not like other dac just 'For your eyes only' and it is really 'For your ears only'.

BTW, AK4490EQ有料到, 秒殺我部AK4396.

終於改好了我部ONKYO CR-N765 Music Player.  It costs only HKD4xxx and bundled with a pair of speakers.  The key point is of its usage of latest AK4490EQ.  The power amp section has been completely removed. Rightnow, I am just using the lineout.  As the AK4490EQ is using the common pins for both PCM and DSD, which makes it very easy to implement the HDMI I2S out for both PCM and DSD. 最攪嘢it has a CD rom and FM receiver仲可以出到I2S.  Everything can be controlled by IPAD.
