C2500 tone bypass

Dear Ken sir and all Mcintosh ching

Recently I bought my c2500 and MC302 and I love both of them a lot.
Just wanna ask the use of the tone bypass button. I found out when I listen to music (no matter from my CD player or stream music files) , the music have much more details and have brighter sound without using the tone by pass, but when I turn on the tone bypass there are a bit blur and the sound is a bit lower than without using it.

Is the tone bypass function related to the tubes ? If I turn the tone by pass on will pass thru the circuit of the tubes or not ?

Please kindly teach more details with the tone bypass function.

By the way Ken sir please pm me the price of MT5 cause I would like to learn to play vinyl. I bet the analogue sound will be much better than the CD and DAC and dun wanna waste the tubes for MC and MM.

And also because I put my c2500 in my HiFi rack which could not see the tubes condition. How could I know if the tubes burnt out or not ? Shall I pull it out and check frequently or it could be noticed by other ways ?

然而，在 Passthru 狀態之下，前級工作會停止，而只讓 AV amp. 訊號直接通過而不會加以處理，此時真空管會處於微溫狀態不會有多太耗損，有益無害，大家當是可以放心。
而 Tone Control 是音源頻應處理的一個附加線路，用以增加或衰減 HF、LF 兩段頻應 dB 音量，方便作個人化之口味調整或修正，然後再交到真空管作最後放大輸出，而如若音源質素並沒問題，那當然不需要修正了呢，這樣 bypass 會是比較理想的做法，因為訊號不需再流過額外的一段線路，當然音色會比較通爽呢。

So which means no matter if I press the tone control or not , the music source will still go thru the tubes , but if I press on the tone control by pass which could allow me to fine tune the music source ( by triming the bass or treble etc) , am I right ?

C2500一買回家,一向只用BYPASS,較清晰傳真.近日試下聽不用BYPASS,初時較濛,但煲多一兩個月,就變得順耳,再調下高低音聽DISCO類節就快歌,真係好勁下!低頻同石前有得輝!

係啊，因為 McIntosh Tone Control 既線路是屬於專業用規格級別，因此效果絕對不比 Bypass 狀態時差遠呢。
