Just received a great note from Ted N, a customer from our dealer Fidelis Home Music Systems - Thanks Ted!
"I have owned the stereo and mono amps for several years now...when I heard about the S250 and M400 upgrades I decided to send in the stereo first and hear the results prior to sending in the monos...when the S250 came back I couldn't believe the difference..it was obvious that this is not a minor update; rather, it is an upgrade equal to an entirely new amp...versus the original stereo amp we now have a dead quiet black background from which sound emanates and soundstage depth is limitless...gone is the forward sound of the original in favor of a now more relaxed presentation, but without any loss of the dynamics or bass slam that Dan is known for....the sweeter tonality and organic body of the S250 are dead on..in fact these are eerily tube like...overall, the S250's greatest accomplishment is its complete lack of listener fatigue...unlike the original, I can listen to this piece hour after hour after hour...I will definitely be sending in the monos for their M400 upgrades ASAP!!!"

for the new fat dan power 3

if you turn on your system
not play any music

will you hear a very small buzz from your tweeter?

I heard that all Fat dan's amp "grounding" is not very good

Fat Dan representative sent me email saying that they sacrificed a bit of "noise" for a very sweet and powerful sound

Yes, i heard that buzz sound too。

Thanks Ching for your information.  I have wondered this for a long time.  The buzz sound is even serious when I use RCA to XLR converter.  There is no RCA input at the back of the amp.  Using this when not turning on the pre-amp, the buzz sound would be very loud....

I'm using adapted too

See whether it will be better if use XLR in pre amp

Also, I've added a Shunyata amp 1 condition for the power amp
The buzz decrease by around 60-70%

Any C hing has tried Dan pre amp with CH or Orpheus power amp? What's the difference in sound between Dan pre amp+CH power amp and CH pre amp+CH power amp? Is there a match or gain/loss issue between Dan pre amp and CH power amp? Thanks.

Your suggested combination may not be too common

Any special reason for considering dan pre with ch power?

In fact, the Taiwan agent sells both dan and ch.  I think you can address your query to them by email...hope this may help...
