Hi Blau hing,

Can the Aries/Aries Mini works in a wifi environment but without internet access? I mean if I have a router that I can connect the ipad and Aries/Aries Mini but no internet access? I do not need Tidal streaming but just accessing the music files in the NAS or portable HD connected to the router.

Dear Hangaround ,

Yes, it is possible to use ARIES or MINI without WAN access.  just cannot use Tidal /Qobuz or Internet Radio type streaming service.  for local LAN service ,  with iPAD as controller,  got no problem at all for file playback.

Dear Hangaround hing,

I did try again today.  it works ,  both in Wireless and wired mode for the ARIES/MINI.   The Mini/ARIES can be in wired or wireless and got no problem.  and my router got WAN port disconnected.

So,  I believe it can fit your need .

有關 Storage performacne :

with regarding which device sound the best:  USB thumb,  NAS and internal storage for ARIES MINI.

最好聲for ARIES MINI, 應該係 : internal SSD the best,  NAS the second and then the USB thumb drive.....

有關Bluetooth:
另外,  有ching 問可否Android 開聲. 可以的.  因為 ARIES / MINI 都有bluetooth , 可以直接bluetooth send audio to ARIES/MINI 的.

另有關Android 做 remote control , 由於 Auralic ARIES / MINI comply to UPnP standard and DLNA Server standard :  

所有DLNA controller都可以用來 control ARIES/MINI: 除了AURALIC 自己的Lighting DS for Android 外.   

Tested Controller for Android: 有 : Kinsky, Kazoo and BubbleUPnP  (這些有iOS 版, 也可與)

-有關WiFi Router:

有關師兄問 streaming audio over WiFi :  ARIES / ARIES MINI support both 2.4G and 5G Wifi.  AURALIC 認為5GHz 是最stable , 最好聲.  而所有device ,  請一同set 使用5GHz network  : iPAD/Tablet/ARIES/MINI (if applicable).

Here is AURALIC Approved Wifi Models:
-Netgear Nighthawk AC1900
-Netgear Nighthawk AC1750
-ASUS RT-AC68U
-ASUS RT-AC66U
-Linksys EA6900 AC1900

- 如使用 Apple Airport Extreme :
a channel must be selected for use, as ARIES does not work best of the channel selection is left on “Automatic”.
CHANNEL 不要選 AUTOMATIC !!!
