Just reply to Andy question on why choosing Sine 5K SRT as my power plant.
First, Cause i am looking for a power 水塘 that is enough to supply whole my system.
Cause i don't have a hifi treatment in wall cable and MCB, i think it is necessary to have a clean source first before anything. and learning from a lot different maker, actually the power "cow" is everything. even with the same design circuit, the bigger the reservoir, the better sound is it. so i need something it is "Big" enough.
Second, i noticed that in Tin hau area, the supply of electricity voltage from 209 during daytime and up to 225 during mid night. so we always feel the system sound much better after midnight. this has been proved by a lot of ching during home visit. and i checked the regulation in Hong Kong electric, it show it is agreeable to have +/- 5 % in electric supply. so i need a stable voltage to eliminate this. and it is a critical to have a stable voltage supply.
Third, Jitter. I read a lot of study about jitter. of course we will have a jitter in a system. we just try our best to minimise it. Did some studies in the relationship between CD and DAC and clock etc. they all come to a clue is, we need to have a same pace from power supply to signal. what if i connect all power to one source. so again it need to be a big reservoir and stable power regulator, most important neutral.
Thanks to the help of Audioexotics Chris Leung, he further demo why his showroom can perform so well, and explaining the unseen secret of this power treatment in his showroom, which proven that what i was assuming is right. AE showroom has an even bigger reservoir than 5000w, of course it is not design for home use. and their winning product JMF power plant as well. all connect to one source. Try to talk to AE chris, although people might think he is very inch, but he inch in his funny way, a very nice guy. I even discuss with him about buying Sine, cause i cannot afford JMF. hahaha!
so i tried several iso cow in the market, it is not my cup of tea.
so nail down power regulator. so we know they are not much choices. so i don't use filter at all for my system, except one for the noisy Nas and router. it will affect my LP for some reason.
And i think Sine regulator fit all the criteria that i need including budget and look.
i fine tune my system, using voltage. it does give different sound. Since all my system from Swiss, so i am using 230v for all my 2 channel system. some finding is higher voltage, everything is tighter, especially bass. from the posted pictures, you know how my bass is over power with this distance, so this voltage adjustment did help to tighter my bass and pin point sound stage.
Race Wong was amazed the bass they produced without a single boom, of course room treatment is important as well.
one more thing, we changed the power plug to furutech, this will further customise the sound you need for different source. Thomas Li has a link on how he modi and i posted some as well.
This is the reason why i choose Sine.
and i really like to use local product if they are good. i used to be a lumin user before CH.
Have a good weekend guys
