Mono FM always sounds better than Stereo FM because there is no MPX circuit involved

For a 50 years old radio, most capacitors are off value, usually 5 to 10 capacitors should be replaced

For a 50 years old radio, some resistors are off value, usually 1 or 2 resistors should be replaced

Repair service cost is about HKD3000 on average

Radio tubes have extremely long life and they are cheap to buy

Do not replace radio tubes if you cannot do IF alignment

IF alignment requires special test equipments. Google “IF alignment“

Audio output tube (usually EL84) can be replaced easily and there is no need for alignment
