“”2. 敲擊卡門:開始第一秒那一聲三角鐵出來,毫不誇張的說,我似乎能“看到“那一片三角鐵周圍一米左右那股空氣的流動。原來傳說中的空氣感是真的可以“看到”的””
It appears David Cheung likes to use the “percussion” Carmen for demo because in another site, the same track was used.

I note in this other article, the opening instrument was cited as a glockenspiel (鐘琴). It is a totally different instrument because it has notes whilst the triangle in the Chinese description above does not. Therefore either one of the two listeners was wrong and it was more or less like mistaking the sound heard from a flute in place of an oboe or vice versa! So much of the realistic sound fidelity as described by both.
The CD album from which the track was taken was not identified. It might well be the one played by The All Star Percussion Ensemble.
If it is, here is some information.
The CD was produced by Winston Ma and originally released in early 1990’s under Golden String label and this Carmen track was included in the first of the two albums, using bit stream recorder. Ma later moved to USA and formed First Impression (Ma passed away last year or the year before last). The latest release was a selection of tracks in the two albums being mixed into a single CD.
By the way, the 鬼太鼓 track. I have the JVC LP and a spare one for replacement. I think the CD may sound better than the LP but don't have the CD for comparison. |
