Hello,

My speakers will pop when I try to play dvd's in xine and any other video playing program (totem, xine) but i can play music cd's fine out of my dvd with no pops. Also.. when playing dvds the sound is always behind the video, ya know how you'll hear voices and then they'll move their mouth? Is there some type of setting that I have to enable or is there something I can do to speed up my dvd player? I really am quite stumped with this. When I was on Ubuntu I had this similar problem and I had to enable DMA for xine but I dont know if thats an option with Gentoo or not. I cant even stand to watch dvd's with it like this so any information would help. Anyone else have this problem?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

Really sorry to hear about what you've gone through with your DVDs. As a tremendous film lover, I'd have gotten berserk if I have to encounter that. Frankly, I'm not an expert in this kinda advanced technology. However, I'm surprised that you didn't choose to play your discs in the Windows Media Player or even in a Bluray player. I'm quite a bit addicted to films myself and I usually watch them on my laptop with softwares that are less complicated.
