Audion於1993年成立，幕後兩位高手分別是 David G. Chessell 與 Erik Andersson，而他們都曾是英國 Audio Innovations 的人。其中瑞典人 Erik Andersson 與丹麥人 Peter Qvotrup 是 Audio Innovations 的共同創辦人.  

Audion 最為人熟悉的是為多款五極膽設計出單端線路放大器和正宗單端放大器如 300B, 2A3, PX25 及 845.  而最受歡迎機型應該是 Sterling EL34 及 Silver Night 300B.  到現在仍然在市場熱賣.  另外,Audion 旗艦 Golden Dream 300B 單聲道放大器也相當出色. 雖然得 18W, 但 Golden Dream 飽滿悅耳嘅音色, 吸引了不水發燒友, 更成為長期受追捧嘅型號.

今次介紹係最新推出紀念 30th 周年的特別版 Sterling KT-150,  輸出 2x25 Watts Class A  into 8 Ohms.  有很多人問, 為什麼Audion 這麼窄? 外型不夠大器.  其實這跟聲音有關.  因為設計師早已發覺機殼除了重型外, 尺寸也直接影響聲音的.  所以一開始 Audion 就已經善用機殼尺寸來調聲.  只要你聽過 Audion 膽機就會明白.

有趣, Audion 竟用了 KT150 來出 class A。  

不過小弟相信若改為用 KR 新出的 KR KT150, 則表現可能有大躍進!
小弟聴過 : 這 KR 不止比原 KT150 在 hifi factors 上優勝, 甚至乎音樂味也强得多呢!

Available in both stereo and 5 channel integrated stereo with an optional remote control volume. The Audion Super Sterling 150 uses Tungsol KT150 pentode tubes the amp delivers approx. 25 watts into an 8 ohm load. Therefore, it has the power of competitors boasting 35-45W. The amp has been designed to work with lower efficiency loudspeakers from approx 86db and up.


Components of the Audion components:
1.Transformers and chokes are design and handmade by Audion: Mains, chokes and output transformers.
2.Superior quality parts sourced from Europe or the US. Even the capacitors are made to Audion’s exacting
   specifications.
3.Chassis’ are finished in-house which includes powder coating and electroplating to ensure quality.
4.Special voicing of Audion amplifiers requires every part be meticulously designed to meet their standards.
5.Every component is hand built usually point to point. Once burned in they listen again in case they are not satisfied
   before releasing each unit.
