Having run the May continuously for a week, I would like to share my experiences on using it. First of all, I appreciate very much the design of the two I2S (HDMI) inputs of May, each of them contains 4 arrangements of the pin configuration to suit for various I2S input formats so that May could be friendly matched in use with almost the I2S gears in the Hi-Fi market.
May’s sound character is similar to Spring with improvements on every aspect. It is more energetic and refined with dark background in sound reproduction compared to Spring. On playing violin music, it shows its talent to make the violin players involve their emotion skillfully. The bottom of the bass is richer with perceptible micro dynamic. It owns the glamour to attract me to listen unstoppably to music with pleasure.
May is much hotter than Spring in temperature but I could still put my hand on its body for a long time. On the other hand, it makes me very annoyed that May doesn’t work properly with the Linger Audio- Eagle USB music files player. Only DSD music files could be played accordingly. The PCM music files were played without any sound from the speakers though the music was running smoothly second by second as shown on the smart phone remote. This case has never happened on the Spring before. I reported the case to Jeff who recommended me downgrading the USB firmware to try but failed.
Does any member here encounter the same problem as I met especially the Linger Audio Music Player users with May? Please share your experiences on using the May. Thanks
