Dear Nelson,
It is a really painful but happy process (I think men are all "fan ching") in trying to run-in my Ref-One Phono. The improvement after seriously running-in for around 100 hours are really nights and days.
I can hear better clarity without the weight, the thickness and muddy feel upon arrival. The immediate improvement is the expansion of sound stage, while bringing the sound a bit more forward, the sideway expansion and the depth is clearly audible. The sound image comes with better clarity and better resolution while the extension of pitch lingering longer with audible improvement in separation between notes, overall giving more airy feel to the presentation. However, the improvement in the bass is not as noticeable compare to the mids and the highs and I am not sure if this is due to LPs or the phono cartridge/stylus or the phono cable.
While following the above thread, I am red-eyed seeing all the improvemet cited by the C-Hings. As such, I am really eager to seek for all C-Hings and Mr. Nelson's expert advice if I should change some of the tubes in order to bring the sound to the next level.
Looking forward for all of your advices!
Happy listening! |
