Oppo 203 不－樣的 MOD

I saw many post here about modification of the PSU or even the analog circuit. But this mod is a bit different. It make used of the digital output board developed by Audiopraise.

Audiopraise has been doing digital mod for over 10 years from the original 93, 103 and now 203. Modification of the Oppo allows digital out in SPDIF or AES format. You can also modify further to allow I2S out.




I plan to connect the output to Minidsp DDRC-88D and 88BM

This allow room correction and base management with Dirac Live processor further.

The digital output is finally output to 8 channel DAC of your choice. There are plenty available and I will be using. Metric Halo LIO-8

Since OPPO can decode 7.1 signal. I will not need a AV processor and still get the best performance. For AV speaker, I will be using Genelec

Finally updated my rack. My mod oppo 203 is now output to Mutec MC8.1 for sample rate conversion and aes3id to AES 3 conversion.

The advantage is the all the source is now resampled to 96K for my DAC to be slaved to an external master clock
There is no need to change the clock frequency anymore

This allows state of the art bass management and dirac live for room correction for all 7.1 channels.
The AES output for DDRC is then output to ULN-8 for DAC which goes to my active speakers.
