100K for av system

Hello every Ching in this forum:

First of all i have to say thank you to kachow ching who introduced to me this great forums! I am starting to built a av system with a budget of 100k, give or take. Since after purchased a new tv and blu-ray player, i would say its a totally waste if i don't build a surround system. I want to ask all your great chings for suggestion.

Current equipment:
samsung c8000 tv
pioneer lx91 blu-ray player

want to buy list:
front speaker:   focal jmlab utopia micro ube
centre speaker: focal jmlab cc1000be
surround L&R: focal jmlab sr800v
surround back: focal jmlab sib (should i also use the sr800v?)
amp: pioneer lx82
subwoofer: jl audio f113

May i ask what speaker cable is good for the front and centre speaker? Is inakustik good? Since the jm speaker is a pretty fast and response speaker, i would like to use some copper speaker cable to neutralize it. Any recommendation for the surround cables? Thanks kachow ching and all chings!

Front: MUBE, 得返2手, 我見review 有人放25th 38K, 普通30K, 都係連原裝腳. 有得諗,不過就會佔左你budget 1/3.
Centre: CC1000be 好選擇! 大約14-16K就可以, 如果你想再極限d, 可以試我個陣個隻Centre Utopia Be, 我見而家大約25K左右. 不過呢隻就一定要加多部後級推.
Surround L&R: SR800v 有雙向, 擴散度唔錯, 不過就頗貴, 都要7K-8K一對.我都係用緊.
Surround Back:用SR700V都好好,大約4.4K左右.  sib就真係麻麻, 一來個樣有d唔match, 二來聲音真係電腦喇叭質素.
subwoofer: JL 113或者112都可以, 113價錢聽講而家大約3皮左右
amp: LX82已經賣斷晒好耐. 不過如果比我而家買Amp, 我會揀Denon 4810. 配JM真係唔錯, 新既天龍分析力好好, 聲音又有質感. 大約16K左右.

喇叭線其他師兄好多Idea.. 我玩個d AV喇叭線唔入流... 等佢地介紹..

不過今時今日如果環境許可, 我會先搞投影, 尤其你用左部LX91 咁好既機, 睇投影會投入好多. 平既1-2萬就可以. 就算環境唔許可玩100"都可以試下80". 咁可以係你Plan既MUBE著手, 如果唔常聽歌,MUBE係AV就未必用得盡.

agree what kachow said pioneer with jm can kill my ear .....

if your main purpose for av ...then why choose jm for av
and if your main pupose was music then don't choose denon 4810.

if you want av and music both :
cary 11a+ poweramp + jm ,then you can make both good enough since i don't think denon can handle jm whole set well.  

subwoofer :
i guess you can take a look at martin logan or svs + mk .

thx for all chings' reply! the reason i choose jm lab is i will also listen to music also. Sooner or later i will get a int. amp for my 2ch music, maybe Luxman or Accuphase? That 's way i want to spend more money on front speaker for future purpose. I don't want to choose amp other than Pioneer because i have already bought the Pioneer blu-ray. I choose LX82 is because of the budget limit to me, and i may still have a chance to get a LX82. LX90 is too old right now although the price right now is very good in $#!k.

Kachow ching: cc1000be for centre is my limit already, i don't even think about the utopia centre. I also want to upgrade to projector also, but i have just upgraded my tv recently. I don't think i can use project in the near future since my room is too small for projector.

hkp1196 ching: at first i really want to buy a whole set MK with denon for movie oriented. But after i listen to the JL sub, i can't forget the atmosphere that the JL sub can recreate. So i gave up the MK speakers. To musical aspect, MK is not good choice. But to movie, i think MK is the best!

claero ching: i am also interested in cary11a+11p, maybe in the future upgrade. But some salesman tell me that cary is no good, Lexicon is better. Of course i know Lexicon is very good but very expensive. So, what do you think about Cary?

also guys, what do you think to use the mirage os3 as surround speaker compared to sr800v? Also, what do you guys comment on Elac 240 series? Is it as good as JM for movie and music too?  Actually, i will use the above setup in a 100 square feet room only......

如果第二時諗住買2ch amp..咁front spk可以preout出去都應該唔會係唔夠力既問題. 如果SR800V係budget之耐..就唔好諗mirage喇.

如果100呎空間JL Audio有得自己Calibrate, booming可以叫唔成問題.  應該可以發揮到既. 不過其他喇叭可能會容易彈聲, 因為師兄plan既器材件件精品, 力量之大, 擴散既威力係可以好驚人, 如果太快到硬既牆身再全頻反射, 會影響音場, 如果用後發覺聲音彈聲得好犀利,就要係d吸音方面做下功夫.

Thx kachow ching, I will be careful on sound proofing. The problem of sr800v is very huge! It is hard to put at the surround back L&R. After your recommendation, I won't consider sib for surround back.

if you don't mind you can go to my home to test my whole JM lab system since I'm going to upgrade to whole B&W system.


it comes with JM lab 907 Be as front, CC900 as Centre and SR 800V as surround. it fills my 13' x 21' ft environment well.

Sai-lo ching, which series do you want to upgrade to, 800D series?? If you will upgrade to B&W, you can consider to sell the surround to me...haha!! If you don't mind, it's my pleasure to go to your place to have an audition......my luck!

cary was better than fine in this price range .....lexicon was good nomatter what but they can't decode dts hd yet .....so 20000 or even higher to 120000 for an old generation product seems too much , i heard cary quite a lot becuase i got few frineds using it . its quite a good product in this price range 23k , u have nothing to choose around this price ,otherwise u have to go for anthem around 60k or denon 40k .

咁又係, 個2舊surround 成部20"電視咁. 如果就咁5.1你覺得好唔好? 到搵到好野先買埋個2隻7.1
