Hi ching, I wanna place sur.spt and sur.back spk. Pls advise what's the best locations. Pls see the attached photo.
Option 1: B for sur.spk; A for sur.back spk.
Option 2: A for sur.spk.; C for sur.back spk.

如果是我會A 因有很多距離音效是要距離才做到出來
打個比喻 有人在遠處丟個波餅給你 應該有的感覺他是1遠 致 2近 到 3bom 4痛  如果沒距離就只會是 1bom 2痛
我玩的地方就是沒這感覺 因為沒空間

    so ching choose option 2.  Actually, i should tell more details.
1. the total length of living room + dining room = 20ft.
2. the dining room is in front of air con.
3. A has been set already by last apartment owner. I mean having the hidden pipe on the ceiling.

Option 2: A for sur.spk.; C for sur.back spk.

I go for the option 2, since there is no way for option 1 to come up with a accurate sound field.

But u will need a really nice sur back spk with almost the same class with a normal front spk and a lot of work to tone the right setting.

打係打中文, 串字差, 哈。

雖然香港地玩AV好難跟標準的建議擺位, 但係都唔好跟標準差太遠, 第一組的放法跟各大指標中(杜比, DTS, THX)差太多了。那些標準正正是混音師跟的標準, 當你聽DTS時, 最理想就是聽DTS的建議擺位, 才可以出到接近電影原意的音效,仲未計當中的room acoustic等其他問題。

我親身聽過, 個比你仲遠的後置, 未開聲前我都覺得唔會WORK, 但事實是只要用上合適的器材跟調校, 是可行的。但如果連基本的擺位都做到好似option 1咁, 我就覺要好聲會比option 2更難。

不過其實師兄有無考慮過option 2中C喇叭, 可以用移前, 係天花用吊架, 吊係近天花的地方, 好多師兄都係咁玩...

some ching suggest B for sur. and C for sur.back.
If i choose C for sur.back, they will be hanged on the '假ceiling'. By the way, i gonna buy mirage os sat / prestige or mission. Any good suggestion for my following gear.

av amp: pioneer 1020  (gonna upgrade it to lx83)
BDP: pioneer lx53
front spk: quad 21L2
ctr spk: quad L2 ctr
sur.spk: onkyo from old 5.1 set

你誤會了, 我明你的首文, 而唔明pinkhung版主說的B是指你的option 2 (A+C) 還只是指option 1 中的B

你說的組合, 只要不是A+B就可以了, 而C跟A定B好, 其實兩者都係接近建議擺位, 只是一個是杜比, 一個是DTS。
如是我, 我就會是B+C,
但係C如果用你說的那些喇叭, 我可以好肯定跟你說, 你會攪得好辛苦.
mirrage 係C位會唔夠大隻推到咁遠, 正如我上面說, 你用C一定要用上一隻前置級的喇叭, 否則好難推番出黎接近你對sur出來既音場。而且MIRRGAE 本身的擴散性, 仲要放咁遠, 放咁高, 到時會出現咩既表現, 我都好有懷疑。
而且你本身用quad, 用mission後置, 會攪死你, 因為聲底取向太唔同, 簪單比個例子你, 我出去聽QUAD, 我會聽得好舒服, 想聽耐一點, 但mission我會聽唔夠幾分鐘就想走...

全數喇叭都用番quad吧... 如果想平, 你既a/b 位可以用番QUAD LITE, 但無雷公咁遠既c位, 用11l2吧, 但如果錢唔係問題, 4隻都用11l2 甚至以上既更好, 好似好毒, 但你既前中置太正了, 好簡單, 你想像一下如果有支大炮由前方孩去後方, 你前中置就出到大炮既密度同量感, 但飛到去後面就變成了子彈, 你話幾無癮先...

av最基本, 全數喇叭用同一隻牌子, 為左易夾聲, 其次前中後, 唔可以差太多等級, 為左易有好既連貫性同空間感。

不過c位真係無得移前用吊架嗎?

in fact, my boss turn down my proposal (no permission). my boss says that there has a light hanged in the dining room. It's very strange as 2 speakers beside the light.
By the way, what's the distance away from the wall with air con. if i can 用吊架.
Besides, what's the price level of quad 11l2?

C移前既位置, 單看平面圖, 會係大約移到A那麼前吧, 但未考慮高度同你現實環境中的影響。

不過一個家庭, 始終是一家人要有共識, 老細唔喜歡就別強行了, 一定要一家人睇得開開心心才是一個好的家庭影院最重要的, 聲反而是其次。
我都好想大移位, 執刑成個聽2/3既地方成家庭影院, 但我就係未過到老細那關。
係我角度, 一家人一齊睇先係AV既最大價值, 我個仔歲幾時已每次開戲就搶我皇帝位,
現在兩歲幾, 每次問佢「睇戲好唔好」佢都好開心咁答「戲戲, 好喔!」之後自己埋位, 依家好左唔會搶我個位, 哈!

點解我咁喜歡AV, 好大既原因就係可以有咁既家庭時間, 所以師兄一定要尊重番老細意見喔。

價錢, 忘了啦, 只記得lite 好像是2千中, 因為當日想過當後置。

而你說82夠唔夠推, 都係那句「加後級啦」 因為推得到, 唔等於推得好, 但這個慢慢啦, 先玩住先。

加後級又有很多野要考慮, 用咩後級, 用咩線, 現在先玩好擺位, 指向, 同SET好哂成套7.1, 都要唔少時間了, 過來人身份, 一次玩一樣野就夠了。

    sigh...boss says that she prefers A+B. She thinks the distance from sur.back to tv/front spk is too far away. It is about 20ft. In fact, the height  from the floor to the ceiling is about 8ft 7in (exlude 假ceiling). Totally agree harmony of family is the most important.  Actually, my plan is

1. upgrade av amp from 1020 to 83 + sur + sur back   (upgrading amp is 'first chop then inform'; otherwise, no permission from my boss for upgrading)
2. int.amp + cdp / power amp  (it's almost no chance to get the approval from my boss.  see la)

As you say, the most important thing is setting up 7.1 properly first.
