exactly....If you plug a large power class A power amp, more voltage drop will occur....
Example:
Assume you have a pure Class A 100W. The normal idle power consumption will be around 400W per channel (i.e. 800W for both channel). If your supply voltage is 240V, that imply it takes 3.3A as constantly. If you additional cable (from socket 1 to 2) has resistant of 0.1ohm, it will create 0.33V voltage drop between socket 1 to socket 2. However, this is not the end of question. If you have a great power amp which able to drive low impedance speaker without dropping power and your speaker sometime may drop to 2ohm, the voltage drop will be 3 times higher...i.e. over 1V......For HiFi, such change of voltage I think will be noticeable.... |
