Dunkirk - not an exciting war movie but it is history.  If our Chinese soldiers face the same situation, will civilian ships answer the call to go to save them and the soldiers retrieve orderly?  Can't imagine what will happen.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets - I have just watched around 10 to 15 min of the beginning and the end, i.e. don't waste your time because I have wasted mine to tell you this.

Shot Caller - the plot and the acting is very good, I think this is the best movie I watched in the past months.  Also it is not a prison movie as expected from IMDB description.

你的名字 - a touching and good story adopting exchanging body and time travel themes.  In fact this is the only 新海诚 film that I think is entertaining.  I have watched some of his other films, but either I can't watch till the end or I don't know / don't remember what they are about.

The Strain - another vampire story in these being a vampire can be scientifically analysed and hopefully might be treated as a disease.  The fourth and finale season will be released soon and I think it is ok to watch it you like vampire related stories.

劍雨 - watched it the 3rd time.  It was released in 2010.  I think it is the best and perhaps the only decent 武俠片 in the recent 20-30 years.  There are very few 武俠片 in the past years.  In 2001, 臥虎藏龍 is ok, but the story is a bit in Western style targeting to gweilo.  Some other so-called 武俠片 like 徐克's 七劍, 龍門飛甲 and 陳可辛's 武俠 are just rubbish (btw, I am really sorry for those who spent the time and money to watch these, including me).  I haven't watched 三少爺的劍 yet, but with 徐克 involved, I will not expect much.  I will talk about it later after watching it.

劍雨 not only has a good plot, but the acting is also great.  I would say each and every character in the movie forms an integral part of the film.  It is a classic.

Life - so a life form sample has been found from Mars.  When doing experiments with it on international space station, it grew and killed most scientists.  The story is quite simple and I would say it is not bad.
