I've the same feeling when I first time using the AH GP1. Later on I tried AH GR1, similar style either, a bit shave on the top freq. though the separation and smoothness is very well. Then I tried AH G1 SC, surprised that it is difference style, sound is quite balance in my system and performance is excellent for the price.
But interesting thing happens when I tried G1, GR1 and GP1 altogether: The sound is truly balanced and very smooth on the top without any feeling on shaving the treble! Instead the soundstage is getting deep, not too up front / laid back and just right. So it sounds strange:
GP1 / GR1 standalone -> not balance *
GP1+GR1 -> even worse *
G1 -> OK balance
G1+GR1+GP1 -> very balance (I expect the balance will just get worse but it doesn't)
So I believe AH design these cables altogether... haha just my humble opinions.
*my other cables including Zu Event loom and Sommer Epilogue&Excelsior IC, which I believe is quite balanced sound standalone.
I tried Vovox Texture PC only, really want to get a chance to try the whole loom, should be very well. Some said Swiss Cable is similar to Vovox. Wish any Ching could share something about it.
AS881 hing, I heard that you like Zonotone, I'm using their flagship PC 7nps Shupreme recently and the performance is excellent! Did you try to use the IC and SC? I imagine the result will be good if use the whole loom together! |
