I see.  But I only find the case slightly warm with the new HDD.

The temperature of the HDD will be around 60c in open air condition when operating.

Noted and thanks.  Soundgenic is designed to be used in a fanless environment.
So does the HDD I used to replace the original.
Instead of purely guessing, I think the best way to make a reasonable judgement is to get one and try it for yourself.

唔好意思呀師兄 , 我都想過買部 918+ 換左我部 916+ 架。

但計落條數，要盡量發揮 918+ 嘅表現對我來講都幾貴 -- 4 隻 Hard Disk, 1 隻 SSD, 換風扇, 加 LPS....諸如此類, 諸如此類

另外，我又唔想好似而家咁將其他啲嘢同啲歌撈埋一齊。 所以咪買左响呢兩樣嘢都滿足到我要求嘅 Soundgenic 囉。

聽講部 918+ 都好好噃

太完整的更換程序 成功更換了 8T Harddisk,  多謝師兄分享. 我選 WD red plus WD80EFBX 7200rpm 256M catch 實際操作(不蓋上蓋),  硬碟很熱, 不知長時間使用的效果如何？

利害呀，我用INNUOS ZENMINI，唔知有無可能用類似方法做到呢？因為我想換SSD，部機用HDD行ROON 太慢，部S記NAS 裝ROON D 聲又接受唔到，無辦法

由於兩個品牌都是小店做代理 (IO DATA and INNUOS )

溫馨提示一下 ,  如果是行貨.  兩個品牌改hard disk 都有機會使到 manufacturer limited warranty 受影響呢....  (just 路過, 溫馨提示,可以完全唔需理會 )

而另外. ..... 太多數ROON 的快慢.... 好多時都與這兩個options 有關...  , another one related to  DSP processing  

如果this 2 options disabled in very beginning ,  the ROON meta database 會小8成... ROON core does not need to find all the data there !   and 好聲好多個ROON .   

so,  normally,  when I have first ENALBED ROON ,首先disable 這兩個options.

我很認同Innuos 作為Roon Core 真係好好聲，所以部Innuos 係我現役器材裡用咗最耐的一部機

未升Roon 1.8前，都好順。但到1.8後，如在播歌時同時碌下D album，就會Hang機，播放中止，部機會restart，一兩分鐘後先有返聲，所以才有換SSD打算

HI toywoof hing  ,

if it got problem after the ROON upgrade itself to 1.8v,  then it is NOT related to HDD or SSD.   as cover art is cache in the iPAD app normally.  

there must be some setting issue ,  please kindly check PM .

hi Ching, you are welcome. just found your article is really useful and wanna follow it step by step for the Hard Disk replacement of my IODATA. BTW, Have it tried to replace it with SSD? if yes, any different in term of soundstage? thanks

No, I didn't try SSD as it was quite expensive at the time (2018) I bought the Soundgenic.  
SSDs should have benefits over HDDs as they have no mechanical parts.  

BTW,  what do you mean --  "your article has been already pushed to Space!!!" ?
