Emotiva UMC-1 7.1 Preamplifier

I have paid upfront before 30 June in order to qualify for the new remote for free. I finally bought a 2nd hand Onkyo 5507 and got a refund. The US bank charrged me USD40 and I lost total HKD500 for noth:Qing.

if this amp can perform equal as 5507 ,then already  a steal la

I wonder this UMC-1 will win/perform equally to 5507. At least the DA chips used in 5507 are much higher grade than UMC-1, not to mention the video upscaling chip and HD audio decording of 5507.

    Almost two times the UMC-1. I gave up the UMC-1 because of the bugs remaind unresolved. To name a few, audio dropout, hdmi handshake problem with cable box and bass management issue.  You can find them in the Emotiva or AVS forum. To make it clear, I paid upfront but have the shipment on hold waiting for the final firmware, lost patience and faith, never have the UMC-1 delivered(they actually shipped it by mistake but recalled it) and got my refund finally. Because I do not want a problem unit and the cost of shipping back to US is prohibitive, I took the 5507 despite the higher cost.

郵購部机有問题又幾煩下.
我覺得好似emotiva小廠係R&D方面吾及日本大廠,
有関新高清音效,hdmi問題,
吾係買入oem卡改下就得,
組装power amp就吾難,
出一部完全自家開發HD av amp就需要多d資源.
以上都係我猜测.

First impression is good but my NHT-P5 amp is sent for repair since mid-September(channel 5 went red and no sound after my attempt to relocate it for the incoming 5507, have sent e-mail to NHT co-founder Chris Byrne tonight in the hope to speed things up) so unable to test it throughly(now just playing 4.1 channels):'(
