請師兄分享下，我只系想揾部有質素network player/streamer食到NAS啲audio files(有wav/aiff/flac/dsd)，要digital output,唔想齋USB output, 費事DAC認唔到，同埋要不用駁電腦

之前試過NAS用DLNA, set唔掂，放棄

要識Linux 先可能攪得掂cubox，我自問冇可能，一系比$人攪

Surface RT = Windows 8 tablet

Yes, Surface RT just $1900 each, but backdraw is don't support x86 driver like ordinary Windows, but still support some generic USB controller out of the box.

At Home I use Surface Pro, i5 based tablet, powerful enough to run Jriver, Jplay and DSD file, install driver and ASIO like normal PC

想Upgrade下，但唔想花太多，如linn klimax, Weiss man301太貴了，Lumin 又overpriced

冇選擇的話真只好 ...

Linear power supplies to NAS，router，SBT 玩左未？USB 線 加 Lan 線？ 另有無裝enhanced digital output app 和 set buffer to medium？SBT搞下搞下都幾多野。

good suggestion but outlook wise very DIY feel, but I guess music is what matters.

Honestly consider SBT's price and its extreme user friendliness and versatility, I honestly don't think there is yet a replacement.  

All 'HiFi' product tends to charge a premium, and SBT was intended for music streaming and ease of use to begin with, less audiophile mumbo jumbo in mind, it's sad no one has stepped up to the challenge.

十分同意!

現在要平又要最簡單只有用 PI + PiCorePlayer, 方法如下:
1. 去RS買隻PI:

Type B - $275
要買TYPE B, 因為有512M RAM 同兩個USB, TYPE A 是256M RAM 同只有一個USB

2. 可以買埋個殼, 電池等:
殼 - $49

用電池比用USB Charger 牛取電好聲D, 又就唔使做線性牛要DIY或貴, 但煩小小.

跟住做, 做錯左唔會死人, 由頭做過便可. 再唔掂就出POST連screen capture 問人, 大把人會提供協助

setup 好後它會跟一個SBT一樣, 只是沒有畫面.
樓主可以買一個跟住玩. 因為 Squeezebox 有個好強大嘅功能, 就係可以 Sync (同步) 兩台 Squeezebox player 令佢地播乜都一樣. 用呢個功能你便可指SBT做"畫面", PI 做播放. 咁樣做有以下好處:
1. 你可以熟習定沒有SBT時的玩法
2. 操控反應會快左, 因為PI的CPU比SBT快
3. 因為PI只係播歌, 音色理論上會比SBT做埋畫面好
4. 你可以將SBT放SOFA, 因為佢有TOUCH SCREEN, 你可以直接用佢做CONTROL, 佢又大大隻字, 好好用的. (只要SBT同PI是放在同一個LAN內, SET左"SYNC"的功能便可)

其實你要付出的只係$500HKD 左右, 加上現在做是未雨綢繆, 和有可能進一步提昇音質, 值得一試!

I prefer cubiebaord2 myself. I do in this way:
1. Load mubox image to it.
2. Disable MPD
3. Install squeezelite
4. modify the startup script to tell squeezelite to use CPU core #1 only
But it requires lot of customization, so it's not the easiest way.

Cubieboard is dual-core CPU
Pi is single core CPU

According to the specification, Cubieboard seems more likely to yield better perfomacne even though it seems much harder to make it work.
