To cook a delicious dish, we need the freshest and best ingredients as well as masterful culinary technique; other than the drivers, the cabinet and crossover design are the most crucial part of a loudspeaker. Our crossovers are point-to-point wired with silver solder and ultra pure 99.99997% copper cable; in the circuit we have MAD ESA Diamond Silver capacitor, with 99.997% diamond silver conductors and audiophile grade air/iron core inductors.

In terms of the cabinet, we constructed it with our proprietary DRC technology, which combines layers of materials in different density, to reduce and control unwanted resonances at various frequencies. As a result, you can expect to hear smooth, open, natural, clear, detailed and unexaggerated music, just like the original performance. A new legend, the 1920 has been born.

Hi Fi Choice has awarded 1920 Loudspeakers with a red Recommended Badge and a top review. The classic design and sound of the 1920 impressed the veteran loudspeaker reviewer Paul Messenger, he honoured the ‘World Standard’ five star winner with a ‘Recommended’ badge. In the review he stated that the bass of the 1920 ‘hampered all of those in last month’s Blind Listening Group Test (HFC 353) to a greater or lesser extent.’ And he was delighted by the well balanced, cohesive sound of the 1920. ‘The 1920’s impressive coherence actually has some of the flavour of a single full-range driver speaker… the tweeter doesn’t draw attention to itself and enjoy this speaker’s superior bass agility, good dynamic expression and fine midband communication.’

從MAD 的官網上可以看到，選擇英倫知音的客戶不乏音樂界名人，包括朱利安·勞埃德·韋伯 Julian Lloyd Webber（音樂劇之王韋伯男爵的胞弟）、皇家愛樂樂團的長笛首席祖里安卡·活迪、著名爵士吉他手約翰·羅素和錄音工程師威廉斯等等……說明MAD 並非等閒之輩。

MAD 的創辦人T.A. Jung 從12 歲開始鑽研音響設計，至今已擁有超過25 年設計喇叭的經驗。他一直致力研發擁有完美音質的音箱，8 年前與一眾音樂家及專家們在著名英國科學家牛頓爵士Sir Issac Newton 在倫敦的故居NewtonInstitute ——牛頓研究所創立了MAD.

T.A. Jung 是一位心理學家，曾致力研究兩位心理巨匠 Sigmund Freud 弗羅伊德及C G Jung 榮格的理論。這兩位影響全球的大師本為師徒，後來卻在心理研究上出現分歧，榮格日後更發展出一套更全面而博大精深的“分析心理學”理論，他的理念甚至影響我們今天的生活。 T.A.Jung 的音響發展事業亦無獨有偶，重蹈這師徒的覆轍。 Jung 與BillyWoodman（ATC 老闆兼總設計師）相識二十載並同樣熱愛音響設計，多年來Jung 常向Billy 請教及討論聲學和單元設計上的問題。後來，Jung 發展出獨特的見解，並演變成獨樹一格的音響哲理。其後，Billy Woodman 被喻為英國傳統音響派大師，而Jung 則成為英國音響界最具創造性的巨匠。


為了達到真正的High Fidelity，MAD 在選材、研製及測試方面均付出了萬二分心血。選材方面，MAD 對每款產品的用料都非常嚴謹。每個喇叭單元和內部配件都是特別訂製，絕不可能於市面隨便買到。以入門型號1920 為例，其內部中低音接線採99.99997% 銅線，而高音接線則採用自家開發的99.9997% Diamond Silver 金剛鑽銀線，非常講究。而MAD 的分頻器所選用的電容也是特別訂製的頂級品種，即使十萬元級別的產品也未必會採用如此頂尖的配件。

為了突破傳統，MAD 更投放了不少心血和資金進行研發，務求以創新的技術製作出高質素的揚聲器。因此對每個細節都一絲不苟。在產品開發過程中，MAD 總共對兩百多種線材進行了實驗，去了解每類型的線材的特性，來運用在設計上。在反复實驗後，他們決定開發自家的金剛銀線， 因為他們發現銀如同紅酒一樣，年份和銀礦不一樣聲音便不一樣。他們從精挑細選出來的銀礦購買合適的銀磚後，拿到專為航空及軍事冶金的實驗室，精煉到99.9997% 的純度，然後再用鑽石模具和氫氣去杜絕製造過程中高純金屬氧化的問題。最後經由人手打磨，並塗上專用的碳化鑽石溶液，在經過高純度特殊加工後，能達到絕佳的聲音平衡，並能兼顧細節的表現。最後這些線得到很多極高的評價，被評為在同類型產品中最精確，最準和密度、平衡度最高的銀線。
