    Yeah, but frankly speaking ASR EII with battery did really drive 205 to extremes, very balance and pin point positioning.
If prefer ASR, can adjust the tastes on cables and cdp areas...however  ASR EII with battery  need 50k more than 082..

I went to audition Hegel H30 myself.  Because I like classical music, I tested a few tracks including Brahms violin concerto in 原音精選 2010.  The tonal color is different from what it should be.  Not sure if it's because the speakers or it's because of the Hegel preamp.  Hegel H30 definitely gets the power to drive the bass and display very broad sound image.  But with the worry on the tonal color, it's dropped from my target list.

口味呢家野人人唔同, 不過我都係第一次聽呢個comment, 話ASR太中性 tasteless.   同能個旺角showroom真係高手或用咗超級分析力又中性的source.  

當然, 我都唔覺得ASR音色好重 (尤其近幾年的version blue), 之不過師兄你將相好似係用緊Burmester amp,  你嘅選擇同你寫出來comment好似剛剛相反, 又或者....可能我對B仔合併amp唔了解啦, 如果話B仔聽得出甜味, 極有可能係個source甜到漏    有講錯唔好見怪

        Please forgive my shallow experience on ASR, but this was my impression in MK (it may not due to the amp..may be the matching effect with the kef and the cdp).  My wife and my friend were with me during few hours ' audition, my wife actually
urged me to leave in behind,  as she did not find the human singing involving. And this was my feeling too, but I did not think
its the character of kef  as I have heard them and their different models in some occasions before.. And as said, the setup did
showed that the amp  have great potential and many merits(hi, low, spacious), so my conclusion was what this was the
character of that combination and setup.

    For my own setup, I would say 082 is indeed a good match with kef and my source is marantz sa7 and also should match
with  kef 205 as well (as central kef show room was also using sa7 as source to play 205). I think its the chemical effects, but
the setup did sound a bit naturally sweet and a very little bit cool as well (but not coolly sharp). The overall result is
good enough for me. (PS. I did add some cerabase and cerapuc and some other little tools to tune the sound and I 'm stilling
doing it right now..)

No, no, I really thank you for your comment as I am really not a 'hi-hand'.  I just like to share what my past hearing experience.
And I think this is very good and very important that as we can share it freely and happily in hiendy.

It's ok, all rational discussion is welcome. When talking about tonal balance, there are tons of comments & reviews. Due to diversity of audiophiles taste, it is NO one for all theory. Same audio equipment may sound completely different when falls into diff environment & diff perception.

A new KEF member in my AV setup:  KEF 202/2

Comparing with my original KEF XQ50c, the new speaker is better mid-range resolution and more solid bass.  I don't need to tune up the speaker in my AV receiver with the new speaker.  

The weight is 50% more than XQ50c and the size is slightly bigger.
