Thanks Poire Hing. Regarding resonance, sandwich carbon fibre is the right way to go.

The point of arrival is a double deck FMD TT. I'm sourcing magnet with directional flux.

The double deck design has been quite popular among a number of high end British TTs such SME, Audio Note and EAR. Is it an attempt to capitalise on the advantage of having layers?

Do you have the intention to use a magnet with directional flux as bearing (just like JC Verdier)?

The upper deck platter is driven by the lower deck motor mechanic via magnetic flux (Free Magnetic Drive), thus the platter is totally isolated from any vibration and noise caused by motor, belt etc...

Just surprised how they fix the price tag. Given my experience in building a sandwich carbon fibre TT, and factor in all business considerations, £15,000 SRP is reasonable. May be the company puts some rocket science into it

Actually I considered a German made TT, but after checking around I decided to build one using sandwich carbon fibre and copper, with stronger spindle. It also allows me to customize and DIY whatever I want

Carbon fibre renders the sound with a fairly natural touch, notably on the region of the upper frequency. Copper materials form sounds with a more precise feeling, interestingly it works well on the lower region of the frequency. Not sure if it was your plan to combine the 2 together in this project.

By all means, both TT sound good, congrats again

I've heard some ching are criticizing that most german made TTs are good quality and very hifi sound. However, they are just not quite musical. Is it true?

Thanks Poire Hing, Yes carbon fibre and copper have their own sonic characterics and a combination of both serves to 'tone' what I want. One more advantage of using sandwich carbon fibre is that it helps to absorb vibration.

I agree with the comment. German TTs sound 'accurate', but unfortunately accurate may not be musical.
