Hi Kent,
Since you are on this post, I would like to ask:
1. Do I understand it correctly that either the Man or the Medea+ has a thunderbolt port?
2. If so, is it possible to use thunderbolt to play audio ( for example, thunderbolt out from Mac Pro to thunderbolt in of the Medea +)? And have you ever tried it that way?

Hello momei,
1) Medea+ has a thunderbolt option, but MAN301 does not has thunderbolt option.
2) Medea+ and DAC202T we have created Thunderbolt optional unit(s) to connect Mac audio playback. But that will not make it sound better honestly. There are too many myths about digital audio.

If I may, I would like to bring over my Macbook Pro to your place, and you or your staff connect the USB versus thunderbolt for comparison, using your cables. In other words, only substitute my Mac in place of yours and change nothing.
That's because I have high hopes of thunderbolt, because of its speed, exceeding the performance of USB or I2S in the replay of high res tracks recorded in native formats such as 24/352.8 or 1 bit 5.6 MHz.
I may go over any time to suit. Just let me know whom I should call to arrange.
