Let me start!
Why dCS?
HiFi 101 - Garbage in, garbage out! 所以第一步一定係source!
今時今日,HiFi sources 主流 sources 有
1) CD - CD and CD players 流通量大,再加上什麼XRCD, Blu-spec, LPCD,玩多十年應該都ok
2) CAS - CAS, for sure will become the next mainstream, 但技術上,版權上,商業上的considerations,都會妨礙CAS發展,當中的討論就唔係這topic covers研究。
3) SACD - SACD,一日CAS HD files未成主流,SACD仍然有一定的生存空間,at least現在每月仍然有一定的新碟推出。
4) 黑膠 - 時間問題,我自己一定唔會玩。
之前都有用過Weiss DAC202, 但因為想試下一套Burmester西裝,所以放咗DAC202入061,061有digital in,可以經Mac Mini 光纖直出。 play 16/44.1 files 都有九成CDP的水準,但24/88.2就唔得,相信係jitter太大, 加Amarra都唔得, I think only Weiss INT202 can improve the situation (btw, DAC202 plays 24/88.2好很多)。所以就想找一個ultimate盤可以一次過玩曬CD, CAS(HD files friendly) SACD (preferred, but not a must)!
I shortlisted two finalists with USB Asynchronous Mode:
1) Esoteric K-03 (SACD, CD, USB 24/192)
2) dCS Puccini + U-Clock (SACD, CD, must add U-clock as interface for USB 24/96)
The reason why I pick dCS is, first of all, Esoteric has NO STOCK, also Esoteric cant lock world clock for its CAS part. Its world clock only works in CD/SACD. However, dCS can lock world clock for CAS!

First impression of dCS
中性, 通透, 高解析力, 和Burmester 061差不多, 但dCS再細緻一點. Also, dCS能upsampling CD to DSD which is excellent for classical music, 因為真係做到好滑好通透, 似SACD的感覺. 好似DVD upscale to 1080p, 所有內容都高清咗, 但不是所有CD都有幫助. 例如好多XRCD, Blu-Spe, 錄音好好的CD都會變得太高清, 人聲有時會過了火位, 無咗感情, 所以dCS provides a free firmware upgrade in Oct 2010 to provide three filters for 16bit/44.1K. New filters令聲音密度高咗少少,analog味多咗, 眞係唔錯!

dCS U-clock 用非同步USB to output to two different players:
Digital out 1 - [IC-Siltech G7 HF] dCS Puccini [PC-Siltech G7 Ruby Hill 2 with Furutech FI-50 set][IC-Kimber KS-1130]
Digital out 2 - [IC-Taralab Air] Burmester 061[PC-Burmester][IC-Taralab The One LE]
用兩部不同player的解碼,不同的IC&PC, 經011 Burmester Pre-Amp出的聲,竟然聽唔出有明顯的分別!!
Why???
但唔用CAS, 直接play CD, 同樣經011出,兩部players出的音質係一聽就聽得出分別!
唔通U-clock的digital out真係有咁大影響? |
