TIDAL MQA的使用。

PC版连接USB DAC （非MQA）都是软解。但是不时发生不稳定现实真的十分烦人。特别是古典。使用16/44输出又差一点。突然想到试一试用PASS THROUGH MODE看看会如何。最多不过是唱不了吧。结果是从96K变化去48K。声音嘛，更加好。密度更高。稳定。这结果是因为PC不够好，还是PC软解MQA根本不成。有MQA DAC的CHING麻烦请试一试。

Passthrough mode turns off the MQA decoding of Tidal desktop app.

Tidal MQA Core decoder performs the first unfold of MQA to output MQA Core in 88.2kHz or 96kHz.  This is the same as Audirvana and Roon 1.5.

For full decoding of Tidal MQA, consider Lumin product line, Esoteric N-01 / N-05, TEAC NT-505.

我係想問，有冇人試過Pass through去MQA-ready dac後比較了開不開MQA的效果？

小弟用audirvana + 軟解MQA files完全冇問題，效果就每首歌都唔同。

軟解MQA files是冇問題。只是觉得不如PASS THROUGH去平常的DAC播放24/48好声音。请问有试验过吗？

All other reports of MQA I read about having MQA Core decoding vs not having MQA Core decoding (i.e. Passthrough mode) preferred having MQA Core decoding, for the Tidal Masters that originate from a Hi-Res master (88.2kHz or above).

I don't actually use Audirvana, but it seems it may have a MQA DAC setting.  By setting the DAC to "MQA Decoder" (even if your DAC is not MQA certified), it should passthrough the raw MQA music undecoded.  With undecoded Tidal master you should get 44.1kHz or 48kHz.

For 24/96 MQA streaming via Tidal,  and buy the original 24/96 and do compare ?   yes,  I did the comparion .  the original 24/96 got more micro detail .  

yes,  I have the DAC which can support MQA unfold in DAC side.  and we did the comparison , IMNO , we hear more micro detail with the orignal 24/96KHz wav files (without MQA compression).

You can pay me a visit and we can compare ,  MQA file unfold in software side,  unfold in DAC side ,  and compare with the original 24/96 files.

Your original 24/96 wav surely superior to MQA without doubt. Just want to know your experience on soft-decoded MQA, DAC-decoded MQA, and Undecoded MQA. This is an interesting topic and no typical result.

For MQA unfold in DAC side,  therefore different implementation.  for my MQA DAC,  there is NOT a software upgrade in FPGA but a dedicated addon hardware IC to do the unfold job .  it sound better than client side unfold.

As even in DAC unfolding implementation ,  it also got diff way to do unfold .  I don't think we can draw one simple answer to DAC or server side did a better job.
