Just Just my 2 cents, if you need to have your projector replaced say in the next 6 months:
4K: no one knows what’s going to happen in the next few months, at this stage no universal standard agreed upon, essentially no hardware media support except HTPC, even worst in terms of available software, already pointed out by ching r32 who is our resident 4K expert in this forum. So to purchase now at very high price with next to zero software / hardware support and unknown future in format, content delivery, etc.? Or if you can wait, stay tuned until late 2014 or early 2015?
1080P: plenty of choices in different price brackets (exclude new technology like LED and laser). Personally I cannot imagine you can buy a really bad branded FHD projector nowadays. It all comes down to budget and personal preferences, to me JVC and Sony will for now continue to be performance leaders in the sub-100K sector, beyond that SIM would generally be the top contender.
Others may have different opinions. |
